Aldo used to be my inexpensive shoe fix years ago and then I discovered the joys of Nine West. For the last couple of seasons, Nine West hasn’t produced styles that I’ve been interested in so I’ve switching my fix to Aldo has once again.
Here are my top shoe and handbag picks from the Aldo Fall Winter 2011 – 2012 lookbook. My top pick is the mustard tassel wedges. So cute.
I tend to like the non-faux leather handbags at Aldo but these ones look good in photos and I love a structured bag. Lots of animal print choices in this lineup. It took many years for me to appreciate the style and I prefer to incorporate it via accessories.
I normally don’t go for metallic gold patent but there is something about these Marc By Marc Jacobs Dries Wedge Heels that I like. They are very 70s looking with the gold and stacked wood heel contrast.
These Dries Wedge Booties by Marc By Marc Jacobs are fun shoes. There is a lot going on with the brown trim and patent leather navy but I like them a lot. They are very schoolboyish. I can see a myself in these with a pleated skirt, white tshirt and a schoolboy type satchel (like PS1 or Chloe). The rubber sole on the shoe should make the 4″ heel more bearable.
These Giuseppe Zanotti platform wedges are crazy high. They have a 6-inch heel and 2-inch platform. I’m loving anything pony these days and my stance on animal print is slowly crumbling. I really like it when it’s used for accessories.
I love platforms and I have a few high ones in my closet. I wonder what these are like to walk in. Any Giuseppe wearers out there care to comment?
