Perfect a film by Ruth Hogben featuring Celine Fall Winter 2010 – 2011

Perfect is a film by Ruth Hogben for Showstudio. It features clothing from the Celine Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 collection. It’s basically Celine porn, you need to watch it on the Showstudio website. Reduce, refine, define. Phoebe Philo’s A/W 2010 Celine collection is a Minimalist mantra for modern dressing. Next season, perfect isn’t a noun, it’s a verb.(source) image: showstudio.com

Versace Menswear Spring Summer 2011

I received an email with some photos of the Versace Menswear Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 show from a person at enternewmedia.com. I guess Versace has contracted them for their social media campaign. I skimmed through the photos but didn’t really pay much attention. It’s almost a month later and I was looking through some images and rediscovered the Versace collection. I’m really liking the ’80 rockabilly style Donatella Versace was channeling this season. I found a video of the collection, it’s not the best quality but it has the original soundtrack (which is kick ass). There are a couple men’s styles that I gravitate to. Rockabilly is one. It all starts with the pompadour, what a great hairstyle. Hello, creepers, so kick ass. I also love the slim, lean silhouette. I love a straight up suit on a man. The only requirement is that is fits well. It could be a Zoot Suit or a boxy Armani gangster suit. It’s one of the reasons why I love working in the financial district. Even though …

David Dixon and Philip Sparks for Town Shoes Fall Winter 2010 Preview

Town Shoes recently sent this teaser image of some of the new fall winter 2010 – 2011 collections from Philip Sparks and David Dixon. I’m so glad to see this designer shoe collaboration continuing to be a success. Every year the shoes get better and better. I’m dying over the Philip Sparks boots. If only they came in a men’s 6, I would be in heaven. images: courtesy of Town Shoes

Lessons from fashion’s free culture – TEDxUSC 2010

This is an interesting talk about the fashion industry at TED. Copyright law’s grip on film, music and software barely touches the fashion industry … and fashion benefits in both innovation and sales, says Johanna Blakley. At TEDxUSC 2010, she talks about what all creative industries can learn from fashion’s free culture.

Balmain x Oliver Peoples

Balmain x Oliver Peoples I have to admit the Balmain x Oliver Peoples collaboration is pretty nice. For the 2010 season, Paris couture house Balmain collaborated with Oliver Peoples to create its first eyewear design. This Limited Edition sunglass, named simply Balmain I, is a bold, unisex style that reflects the edgy aesthetics developed by designer Christophe Decarnin on the runway. Featuring an exaggerated teardrop lens shape in a form-fitting wrap, the Balmain I is a mixed-media style, crafted with a metal top bar and temples, and an acetate eyewire. Unified with four screws along the backside, the frame also features a flexible hinge for added comfort. Two color options are available: solid black and a black/silver combination. EDIT: I’ve discovered a Canadian retailer. Unfortunately it’s only in Toronto, Spectacle. images: oliverpeoples.com
