I’ve been obsession over the Debbie Pant by Toronto based designer Ewanika. They look like a great convergence of style and function.  They got some room in the thigh and hips which I like a lot.  The pockets look like they sit flat, sometimes that style has a tendency to gape. I’m so glad that these roomier styles of pants are everywhere now. United Nude has some amazing shoes for Spring Summer 2010.  I’m particularly fond of the Frame style. The United Nude Frame is a return to United Nude’s architectural roots. The lovely Nathalie Aktinson send me a link to the Tale wedge by Eileen Shields for Maria Cornejo. “These new Zero+Maria Cornejo shoes somehow remind me of you…” the message reads. She is completely on target here, I really like these wedge booties.  The cutout is perfect and I love all the colourways.  The white stands out to me the most. I have a total soft spot for Zero + Maria Cornejo. I love her clothing and prints. The Spring 2008 collection from Zero was my first New York Fashion Week show.  Zero + Maria Cornejo women’s ready to wear is available at Holt Renfrew and Jonathan + Olivia.  Shoes have to be ordered online or a trip to the States is in order. images: zeromariacornejo.com

I was doing my regular rounds of Holt Renfrew Bloor Street with The Oracle a few weekends ago. We ran into Tommy Ton of JakandJil. I hadn’t seen Tommy since he started on his adventures during Men’s and Women’s fashion weeks so it was really good to catch up for a bit. I say this to everyone but Tommy is such a sweetheart. The highlight of our catching up was me playing model in Celine for Tommy. I know, it’s pretty lame but simple pleasure right. I’ve always looked, touched and drooled over the Celine pieces in Holts but never dared to try anything on.   With Tommy Ton present I had the perfect excuse. He had me try on two army jackets and I’m posting about the one I really, really love. The jacket is “the sex”. There is something about well made designer goods that just feel like a dream on. I’m in love with Ash’s Lotus Cutout Booties. They would be a fun shoe for spring/summer but I could see myself wearing them into the fall with tights. I heard that Holt Renfrew had the black version but they sold out. Boo.You can purchase them at Shopbop and Nordstrom. UPDATE(April 11, 2010): I saw them in Holts on the weekend. They are not sold out. I didn’t check the price too carefully but they are under $300 I believe. Other stores in Toronto that carry Ash are Balisi, Corbo, Holt Renfrew, Capezio and TNT.
