I was reading WWD.com and came across these WUYORK handmade bowties. I was surprised to discover that Taiwanese designer York Wu spends his time in New York and Toronto. He is also an interdisciplinary artist/designer and Interior Designer. His bowties are quite beautiful and unusual. These bowties can move between traditional usage and jewellery. The WUYORK website contains more product and campaign images. There is also photos of the packaging, which is just as beautiful. images: wuyork.com
Lanvin Small Piquet Dress This is the same dress from the amazing Lanvin Spring 2010 Ad Campaign. Beautiful.
Jersey and Leather Long Top by Rick Owens Rick Owens drapey leather goodness with a dash of jersey to round it out. I would wear this alone as a mini dress but I could also see it with a pair of super bright colourful tights or leggings. images: luisaviaroma.com
Browsing cyanatrendland.com lead me to Christopher Raeburn. I love these spring 2010 jackets. They are so colourful and making use of the sheer trend. Utilising re-appropriated military fabrics, Christopher Raeburn creates garments that are functional, intelligent and meticulously crafted. A graduate from London’s prestigious Royal College of Arts in 2006, Raeburn is fast becoming known for his pioneering work towards the future of ethical design. Christopher Raeburn’s collections are highlighted for their intelligent design, high quality and extreme attention to detail. Staunchly British, all Raeburn garments are proudly ‘Remade in England’ and produced in East London. Christopher Raeburn has jackets for both men and women. I’ve posted some of each here because I liked both styles. The colours are so vibrant. The jackets just scream fun times to me. I really like the way they pop in these trade show photos I found on the Christopher Raeburn blog. These booths would be magnets to …
Zoë Hong is a designer I’ve been following online for a few year now. It was first through her blog Verbal Croquis and now Facebook and twitter. We’ve never met in person but I’ve always thought she was talented and pretty damn cool. I was super excited when she opened an Etsy shop. Zoë makes accessories with just the right amount of embellishment and attitude. I fell in love with this asymmetrical black leather corselet belt immediately. There is no other adjective to use but sexy for this belt. Hot stuff. image: etsy.com
Lana, an I want – I got reader, emailed a link to the London, Ontario based fashion eshop, Dress911.com. I get sent a few links and sometimes they intrigue me and sometimes they don’t. The concept of our store is clothing that is both vintage inspired and presented by smaller designers. Our selection ranges from garden picnics to cocktail parties, styles from movie stars of yesteryear to the latest revived fashion on magazine covers, liberating indie designs to humble simplicity. Each piece is unique and is a statement. I was trolling the site which features a lot of vintage inspired clothing, when I noticed these great Space Invaders Handbags. I love! If I saw a Galaga version of the handbag, I would have freaked out with excitement. Galaga is my favourite video game ever. images: dress911.com

Metal cutout-detail cuff by Yves Saint Laurent I’m not a label type person but I do love this YSL cuff. It’s very designer Wonderwoman. image: net-a-porter.com
Someone from the Design + Conquer Jewellery twitter account send me a message alerting me to their line. I’m assuming it was the designer, but you never know these days. It took me a couple days to see the message because I don’t look at the I want – I got account for replies that often. I was pleasantly surprise and then drooling when I opened the Design + Conquer website. Morgan Mallett, the designer, has an extensive art education. She started Design + Conquer in 2008. The pieces in the picture are made out of flexible polymers which make the jewellery durable and light. The large neckpiece is available for custom order only. Neck measurements are part of the transaction. It’s my favourite piece out of them all, what a conversation piece. Design + Conquer also partnered with Jessica Biffi for her Spring 2010 collection creating an exclusive pair of earrings. Design + Conquer Jewellery has an Etsy Store where you can buy the designs online and at Corktown Designs in the Distillery District …
