MediaStyle interviews Anita Clarke

I did my first interview about the bloggers window with Ian Capstick of Mediastyle.ca. You can read it at this link – MediaStyle interviews Anita Clarke. I met Ian through Twitter initially and when the news of the Holt Renfrew Bloggers Windows broke, he asked me for an interview. We met outside the windows at 10am one morning during my vacation. I didn’t realize it was a video interview until it was too late. I was wearing a short grey knit dress, bright pink tight and Danielle’s Docs. I was cursing myself for not wearing mascara. However, here is the video for your enjoyment. I talk abit about myself and a lot about the window. MediaStyle.ca interview with Anita Clarke of I want, I got from Ian Capstick on Vimeo. Thanks Ian for such a great post.

Fit-in-15 – It’s a wrap

The Fit-in-15 campaign is now over from a blogging standpoint but increasing your activity shouldn’t end with me. I’ll continue my daily tricks to keep active and I hope you will too. To refresh your memory. I’ve been called out for a challenge. The Fit-in 15 campaign is about building awareness to bring physical activity into your daily life. Most people have a hard time starting up a heavy routine at the gym and think that’s the only way to be active. Its just not true, adding as little as 15 minutes of activity a day can yield health benefits. Active living is a lifestyle, you need to incorporate activities that fit your schedule and stick to them. Start out small and increase. The main key is REPETITION. Get it stuck in your brain so you don’t even think of it. There are many things you can do and I’m going to talk about the things I do daily over the course of the next week. To recap, I posted the following over the course …

Toronto’s 175th Birthday

I was asked to be part of a video for Toronto’s 175 Birthday celebrations. It was created by the wonderful Jamie Woo of Torontoist and Suresh Doss of Spotlight City. I don’t usually like myself on film; I hate the way I sound and look, Suresh’s camera was amazing, I approve of my appearance here. Thank god I got a haircut on Monday too. See the original post Summing Toronto Up in Six Words – Torontoist: Toronto News, Culture, Events, Photos, and Everything Else.

Mark Fast Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

The power of video once again proves itself to me. I would have totally overlooked Mark Fast Ready to Wear 2009 – 2010 without seeing this video. The pictures of the collection on Style.com don’t do it justice. Mark Fast is a 27 year old Canadian born knitwear designer. He grew up outside the city of Winnipeg, in the countryside along a highway next to a forest. This minimal, peaceful lifestyle led him to wonder what life might be like beyond the familiar frontiers of Canada. Finally finding inspiration in London, Mark studied at Central Saint Martins for five years. He completed his BA there and went on to complete his MA in February 2008. Mark has also created knitwear for Bora Aksu, a collaboration that spanned three seasons. I’m always excited to hear about Canadians making it abroad. Sarah Nicole Prickett wrote a great article about Mark for the National Post.

Holt Renfrew Holiday Window Unveiling Video

Holt’s put up the video of the Holiday Window Unveiling with Macy Gray and Patti LaBelle. I attended the opening and Macy Gray was hilarious. She was pissed drunk. Patti LaBelle on the other hand was the consummate professional and was absolute perfection. Check the video here, Holt Renfrew Holiday Window Unveiling. It’s too bad it doesn’t embed. Holt’s should have a youTube account.

Fashion Show Videos Spring 2009

Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2009 Very pretty and wearable collection, however it didn’t grab me like Fall Winter 2008. The clothing on the other hand….
