SHOWstudio does Spring Summer 2011 Haute Couture

The guys from SHOWstudio shoot model, Ming Xi in various iconic pieces from the Spring Summer 2011 Haute Couture collections. Designers featured include Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci, and John Galliano for Christian Dior. I’ve embedded the fashion film featuring Ming Xi here on the site but I urge you to check out the SHOWstudio site because each Haute Couture look get an in depth video treatment like the Givenchy one I posted a couple weeks ago. These videos give you an up close look at the dresses and talks about significant design details. Plus, there is an interesting interview with Ming.

Christian Dior Haute Couture – Fall-Winter 2008

John redeemed himself to me with this couture collection. Now if we can ween him off the New Look kool-aid everything will be great. Don’t get me wrong, I love New Look but it’s time for him to move on or do a neo-New Look, 😛 click the thumbnail below to see a larger version of the dress above, gorgeous. The video is out already view it here: Video, Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2008 . 2009 on Frillr. You can also view the Resort 2009 collection video.

I can’t believe that I’m bored by the Christian Dior Spring Summer 2008 Haute Couture collection

I’ve said it. John has officially bored me. It’s like I’ve been seeing the same collection for the past few seasons, with no real movement forward. Don’t get me wrong, the garments are made to perfection and the details are incredible. I’m just bored with this, even with the Klimt references. That’s really damn hard to do, Klimt is my favourite artist! That being said, there are a few pieces that I liked. (Click on thumbnails for larger images) I did get a kick out of the hats and amazing makeup job. I really shouldn’t pass final judgment until I see the video. images: thefashionspot and vouge.com.au
