Rodarte Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

OMG, Rodarte is perfection. I am calling it now and Rodarte wins for best collection of NYC. Their clothing is a lesson in textiles; incorporating colour and texture. They get better year after year. The collection wasn’t all black either, that is a big bonus in my books this season. images: Rodarte F/W 09.10 New York – Page 5 – the Fashion Spot.

Philip Sparks Ready to Wear – Fall 2009- 2010 Lookbook

Philip Sparks Ready to Wear – Fall 2009- 2010 Lookbook Philip told me that his theme for fall was Peter and the Wolf. I thought it was an interesting concept. I had no idea that Philip would execute it to such perfection. I’m in love with this menswear collection. It’s the best Philip Sparks collection yet. The everything about this lookbook is perfection. The models, the backdrop, the clothing, the fur. Congratulations on such a wonderful collection Philip, I can’t wait to see this in March. images: Philip Sparks Fall 2009 | The Fashionisto.

I hope the metallic trend doesn’t continue to Milan and Paris

New York Fashion Week is a metallic mess. The huge trend for Fall Winter 2009 – 2010 is metallics. It’s often metallics combined with 80s influence. The result isn’t pretty I usually am a fan of Jonathan Saunders, but he lost me this year. I don’t know what to say about Marc Jacobs. I guess I couldn’t expect him to top last season Erin Fetherston yikes Preen – God those pants, hideous. Barbara Tfank – Prom gone so very wrong I’m hoping Milan and Paris redeem this season otherwise I’m going to be cringing in fall when this stuff translated down into fashion fashion. images: thefashionspot.com

Jeremy Laing Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

Jeremy Laing Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010. I’m a big fan of this collection The Jeremy Laing Fall 2009 video is what sealed the deal for me. Everything looks so good moving. The music selection is perfect. Things that I thought I didn’t like in print came to life in video. There is also a video of Jeremy backstage and he gives us more insight into the inspiration for the collection and it’s construction. images: style.com

Rag & Bone Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

Rag & Bone Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010 Rag & Bone have their menswear influence shtick downpat. I usually like their collections but don’t get all worked up. I find I get excited about their stuff in the store. Well, Rag & Bone is feeding in the skinny pant fetish that I’m currently engrossed in. images: thefashionspot.com

Ohne Titel Ready To Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

Ohne Titel Ready To Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010 The collection was pretty dark, but a few pieces really stood out for me. They all involved something that looked like metal applique. It was a beautiful touch adding texture and tough edge to the clothing. images: thefashionspot – See the whole collection Ohne Titel Ready To Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

Halston Ready To Wear – Fall 2009 -2010

I really liked the Halston Ready To Wear – Fall 2009 -2010 collection presentation. Like many labels, they opted out of New York fashion week and created a video presentation that launched on the Halston website. It doesn’t give you a good look at the clothing, which might be a good thing. I saw the fall 2009 collection on wwd and it isn’t that great. They really need a Creative Director behind that brand as it looked like a collection formed by consensus. There were a couple great jumpsuits and that’s it.
