While I’m enjoying what probably is the last heatwave of the summer, I’m also thinking of the upcoming fall and winter seasons and the fashions it brings. Yes, I’m still obsessed about owning a Moncler winter coat. This Polygale Jacket by Moncler would be perfect for hitting the ski hills as I like longer winter jackets for running around the city. This one has a detachable Raccoon fur collar.
Oh Hi, Mary Katrantzou x Moncler jackets. What’s that? You want me to stop eating for months on end so I can afford you and your yards and yards of downy goodness. Honestly, that’s sounding like a really good idea because my mind is blown by your stunning beauty. I was really upset when Sacai’s design term was up at Moncler. However, Moncler being the absolute fucking best brought in Mary Katrantzou to take the fashion crazy functional outwear to the next level. They are magnificent and expensive!
For the Moncler M collaboration, Mary Katrantzou took inspiration from the duality found between the interiors of a classic sports car and those of a gypsy caravan. Silhouettes were inspired by the sculptural shapes of Katrantzou’s AW12 collection and the research on car interiors. The chiffon gowns of Katrantzou’s AW12 show are converted into ultralight nylon coats, allowing the experience of wearing a ball-gown to become an everyday possibility and the sculptural silhouettes mimic the shape of a car seat, capitalizing on the versatility of the down jacket. Katrantzou also worked on bespoke brocades for this collaboration, which combine the exceptional technical abilities of Moncler with a hand crafted artisan textile.
It come as no surprised to regular readers that I’m obsessed with everything Moncler. When MYKITA and Moncler teamed up in the spring I was excited. Two brands I really love coming together for a special collaboration. I’m also a sunglasses nut but the only thing preventing me from owning a pair is the cost. They are so expensive and not available in Canada! With shipping, duties and foreign exchange I’d be looking at around $1000. OUCH! I can’t justify it, even my Prada Baroque’s didn’t cost that much.
“From mountain peaks to the city streets†was the credo this time, and with model LIONEL we’re moving a bit more into the urban context.
LIONEL is available in the following colour combinations: khaki with brown reflective lenses, brown with gold reflective lenses and black with silver reflective lenses – all three featuring mineral glass from traditional Italian manufacturer Barberini, boasting excellent durability and clarity of vision. A delicate silhouette and a further reduced weight were the defining features behind the creation of the unisex model LIONEL.
The preceding LINO model, which launched the collaborative range, will also be available in khaki for the new season. All lenses have a very special hallmark: they reveal the MYKITA & MONCLER logo when breathed on.
It’s Moncler’s 60th anniversary and this collection commemorates it so they created a campaign video. Check it out.
So, this year I lost my mind and I decided to create a holiday gift guide. I’m usually anti-gift guides because I’m not much of a Christmas person and gift guides are a shit ton of work. I don’t know what made me change my mind this year but here we are. People have told me this is a good idea, so I hope you find it helpful or amusing.
This is the part one of four in the I want – I got Gift Guide series. I have so many favourite things I wanted to include. This gift guide is very much I want – I got. You’ll see things I want, things I got and other obsessions. Some things are affordable and some aren’t but I’ve tried to mix it up. The list covers fashion, beauty, electronics, art, toys and booze. Basically, all the items on the gift guide are I want – I got approved.
So, join me on this exploration of things I would love to see under my tree at Christmas.

Moncler S is my favourite of the Moncler collections. It combines Moncler design sensibility and function with the creativity of the amazing Japanese designer, Chitose Abe of Sacai.
Harnessing the futuristic and ultra-feminine creativity of Japanese designer Chitose Abe, of Sacai. The Moncler S project builds upon a rich heritage to spark a new aesthetic of flowing lines, airy shapes and formal purity. Each piece draws upon a deep-seated understanding of Moncler’s history, the collection offers a unique avenue of evolution designed to reinvent the Moncler world in an entirely modern dimension. The Moncler S project is part of the main female collection of the Maison.
The Moncler S Spring Summer 2012 line combines bright colours, gold chains, tulle and ultra-light nylon.
I’m such a huge Moncler fan after purchasing my Moncler S ‘Shihoko’ Trench coat last year. It’s my favourite spring/fall jacket right now. I really want to get a winter coat by Moncler S but that time has passed and I’m now obsessing over the spring 2012 Moncler S Navy Yukari Coat. It’s a simple jacket but I love the asymmetric hem and drawstring.
Moncler and Chitose Abe of Sacai came together to create the Moncler S capsule collection. Think Sacai sensibility and Moncler quality and functionality. I’m in love with the line. I was lusting over the Moncler S ‘Shihoko’ trench coat. It has this beautiful cape detail that gives it a lot of volume. You can wear it in a number of different ways. I needed a proper trench coat and I didn’t want to get Burberry. I loved the army green colour. It’s not khaki.
I stared at the jacket while it sat on the rack at full price. I contemplated the purchase but never followed through. This past weekend I noticed it on sale at Holt Renfrew and decided I would buy myself a birthday present. Toronto is getting some sub 20 days coming up so I plan on taking this jacket out for a proper workout.
