It seems we skipped spring and moved right into open toe shoe wearing weather. I honestly thought I wouldn’t wear sandals until closer to June but there I was wearing peep toes at the end of April. A new summer season means new wedge sandals. I was having a particularly bad day and used my Nine West gift card to cheer me up. I love a good wedge sandal and I have more than a few pairs of them kicking around.
I was debating between the Kaiyra and Shaky sandal. The blue and green patterns of the Kaiyra won out. They have a 5″ cork wedge with a 1″ platform. They are high but comfortable, the perfect shoe dimensions. I still might get my hands on the Shaky sandal, they are on sale now. So is the Kaiyra if you are interested.
In celebration of individual street style, MOON Apparel has partnered with 10 Canadian fashion bloggers in five cities across the country. The bloggers were specially selected by Mimran Group Inc. to become members of an ambassador program set to launch October 8th 2012. The bloggers were challenged to bring their best fashion flair forward by integrating their individual style with clothing pieces from the fall 2012 MOON collection and accessories from their existing wardrobe to create seasonal fashion looks. Captured on the streets of their cities, the bloggers turned the lenses on themselves to shoot their looks. Each ambassador will post their favourite look and style tip of the season on their respective blogs and invite their readers and followers to enjoy an exclusive offer from MOON. Check back with the Yellow Dot Blog each week for the full scoop on Canada’s newest style influencers.(source)

Moon asked me to talk about my look (which is a pretty typical fall look to be honest) and give some styling tips for the dress.
This is a classic fall look for me. I contrast the ladylike Ottoman Dress with a rock and roll edge. To achieve this I use the standard: opaque black tights, black flat boots and a leather jacket.
This knit Ottoman Dress is my favourite piece from fall 2012. My look can be adapted slightly with motorcycle boots or even some black converse. The dress is also perfect for colour blocking. Pair it with bright tights or a cardigan. It’s time to break out your colour wheel. To create a more classic look use a white or black button up shirt, black tights and black pumps. Finally, on those really cold days add a turtleneck for extra warmth.
I really enjoyed this campaign because I had free reign to do whatever I wanted. Each blogger receive a package that includes pieces from the fall collection. Our job was to style it and capture it. I received the Ottoman Knit Dress, Riding Pant, Snakeskin Blouse and Pencil Skirt. One Sunday, I put together looks for everything but the skirt and bundled them into a garment bag. There was a quick stop at the Eaton Centre MAC cosmetics for makeup applied expertly by Lainee Diona. Then onset stylist April Wozny and photographer friend Dave Yan, who brought two friends along as his assistants headed over to U of T. We did it guerrilla styles in one of the building at the University of Toronto. No, we didn’t get permission and strategically placed ourselves outside of camera range. Moon only required one look but I’m posting the others for fun. It was a fair bit of work and we should show it off.
I paired the Riding Pant with a black Complex Geometries tank top, plaid Smythe blazer, Rebecca Minkoff MAC Bag and Ash Boots. I paired the Snakeskin Blouse with a Nine West clutch, Club Monaco over-sized blazer and cobalt blue pants from the Gap. The earring and ring are from Jenny Bird and the bangle is Hermès.
On Day 2 of LG Fashion Week I wore Fashion Crimes. It’s been a lot of near misses but I finally got myself outfitted for a night at Fashion Crimes. I had a great time with Coco choosing an outfit and jewellery in the store.
Mi Concept Jacket; Dress by Pam Chorley; Earrings, ring and necklace, Fashion Crimes.
I was looking for some low heels that weren’t your basic black(these are a bronze colour) and that is where Nine West came into play. I had gawked over the shoes for a few months and now they are mine.
Sometimes readers ask me questions. If they are of value to all my readers I post them online. If you have a question, please feel free to submit it using the contact form. I’ll definitely do my best to answer it.
I got an interesting letter from a reader. It was interesting mostly for the awful grammer I was forced to read, it was painful. Please don’t send emails in this fashion.

hi ,how r u ur site amazing ,i want u to tell me pls ,i want to buy new boots and i want to no what i shud buy hot and trendy and in , and im going to buy a coat with leopard prints is this in this winter hope to reply as soon as psbl ,thanx!!
Well Mina, I can’t tell you what is trendy because I really don’t follow that, but I can give you my opinion. I’m really into flat and ankle boots. I am also liking the thigh high boots even though I don’t own a pair. Riding inspired boots are always on my favourite list. As with many years the slouch boot is also very popular. I’m assuming you are in the GTA area so I’ll list a few favourites I have at Nine West, Aldo and Browns.
As for the leopard print coat, I can’t in good conscious tell you that it’s acceptable. I hate animal print for the most part. If it is used, it needs to be in small amounts like a handbag (yuck) or shoes (a bit better) or scarves.
Chunky heels from Nine West
I picked up a pair of navy heels the other day. It wasn’t an easy search as shoes are mostly brown, burgundy, tan or black these days. There are a lot of cobalt shoes hanging around but not too much in navy. I found these shoes at Nine West. The picture show is grey but the ones I have are navy. I like the fake reptile print in them also.
They are basically knockoffs from the Chloe Spring 2007 season. They removed a strap, changed the colour and ditched gold for silver.
I like that the chunky heel is back this season, they are so much nicer to walk in, even at 3.5 inches.
