I stumbled across some news about a local grafitti artist named Skam. Â He was commissioned to add some artwork to the LV wall for their Stephen Sprouse campaign. Â Skam is among a number of graffiti artists that Louis Vuitton is calling on in various cities to help with this tribute.

How freaking hot is this leather jacket by Rick Owens. It’s has more volume compared to most of his sleeker leathers. He keeps the signature slim sleeves with high armholes that makes a Rick Owens jacket a dream to wear. It’s cropped and it reminds me of a bomber jacket put through the Rick Owenantor.
I’m enjoying the Lanvin Spring Summer 2009 Ad Campaign. The clothing is beautiful of course, that goes without saying. I’m loving the whole “cheekily playing in your large changroom before it’s time to go out” vibe that is happening in this campaign. I usually don’t find depictions of narcissism that attractive, but I think the mirror loving Iselin works very, very well.
Felipe Oliveira Baptista Haute Couture – Spring Summer 2009
I check out Felipe Oliveira Baptista’s collections every season but this year his presentation and standout jackets caught my eye. There is also a futurist aspect to the clothing. I’m also enjoying the urban uniform vibe his clothing portrays.
Well, I finally tried on a variant of the dress at Holt Renfrew Bloor Street. Of course I had to take a couple sneaky photos in the changeroom. It’s stunning, but it’s a shame this version missing the statement shoulder. This dress fits like a dream and feels like nothing on. It’s a serious curve hugging dress. I’m in love. However, it’s $1500!!!! A girl can dream though.
One of my peeps at Saks sent me a link to this video they had made for the Alexander Wang Spring 2009 Collection at Saks.com. In this video, Alexander talks about the inspiration for the designs and a model stands there doing what she does best in said design. I find it really interesting as I love to know what the backstory to each piece is.
I’m not one to watch a lot video but I think this works for the following reasons: it’s short and the designer is talking about pieces that are available at the retailer which allows it to be more focused and relevant. It gives the consumer more information about the collection and they now know what is available in the store/online shop.
There is something about this campaign for the Phi Spring Summer 2009 collection that I really like. I get a 20s vibe from the setting. For some reason the background colour reminds me of The Great Gatsby. I also am a fan of the dark haired model, Kinga. She was also in the Balenciaga Spring Summer 2009 ad campaign. Oh ya, this is another Meisel joint.
