i want: Beau Coops x Karen Walker Fall Winter 2011 – 2012 Shoes

Daniela, owner of Chasse Gardee, is an accessories pusher. I was in the store one day and she showed me samples from the Beau Coops x Karen Walker Fall Winter 2011 – 2012 collection. They are now my newest obsession and I can’t wait till the shipment comes in so I can get myself a pair of the white leather brogues.  Shush now, I know I already own a pair of white derby shoes by Rokin.  Hmm, the Rokin’s were from Chasse Gardee too. Beau Coops is a London based footwear label designed by Carrie Cooper. Cooper’s designs are influenced by unisex dressing, menswear and androgyny. The label produces sculptural platform wedges, lace-up brogues and contrast toe ankle boots. I’ve always known Karen Walker for sunglasses. I’m going to own my first pair thanks to Moda Operandi sometime this fall. Karen is more than just sunglasses as she produces a ready to wear line and accessories. images: stylebistro.com

Ela Handbags

Ela is a new Canadian handbag line that I’ve just been introduced to. I met co-founders Ela Kowalewska and Martin Aldorsson at Dark Horse cafe where I got a chance to chat and see the line in person.  I really liked what they had to show me. The basis of ela is the idea of humble luxury, where refined and sophisticated silhouettes strive to showcase, rather than upstage, the wearer. From subtle asymmetry to luxe hardware and leather, every design element is infused with a high level of craftsmanship, materials and a signature aesthetic. The collection is small but focused. The handbags are on the minimal side of things but they all share the signature Ela leather closure. The leather is lovely and there are a few different finishes to choose from.  I like the pebbled leather the best. The MILCK clutch is a big enough for a night out that includes a camera and smartphone. It comes in a variety of colours and finishes. There are also some tote bags. I like the more …

i got: Solvang Clog by Jeffrey Campbell

When clogs came back into fashion I dismissed them. I’ll never wear these. It’s something I say to myself often and the opposite is usually the result. My thirst for platforms has brought me to Jeffrey Campbell and the Solvang Clog, which I bought at Chasse Gardee on Boxing Day. It’s a very comfortable shoe and gives me that extra height.

i got: Criss Cross Sandal by Marais USA

These Criss Cross Sandal by Marais USA are my new favourite summertime flat. They are super comfortable and not expensive. I love the discussion and stares these shoes bring. They are so bright and neon. I love it. I picked these up at Chasse Gardee. They carry Marais USA in Toronto and they range in the $85 – $120.

Chasse Gardee Spring 2010 Arrivals

Chasse Gardée Spring 2010 Arrivals

I stopped in to Chasse Gardee over the weekend. It was a nice day and I was taking the Olympus E-PL1 for a spin. Outside of a runway room I seem too be doing alright with the camera. There are a lot of new shoes in the store so I decided to go crazy with the camera and snap away. A Détacher” are some new additions. I love the lace up wedge sandals. I didn’t remember to make note of the boot brand.  They are beautiful.  A more modern version of the Frye boot.  A little sleeker. LD Tuttle has some amazing shoes.   I really like the ribbon effect and exposed zipper details.  The grey shoes are pretty special. I’m not a feather or fringe shoe person but the Tuttle’s are damn hot. The jewellery pictured is from Eliza who is Toronto based. After my Saturday shooting with the Olympus E-PL1, I’m in love. I don’t want to give it back, waaaa. 🙂 See all my photos from Chasse Gardee Chasse Gardée 1084 Queen Street …

Ask a Geek: Where to find Jeffrey Campbell Shoes in Toronto

Sometimes readers ask me questions. If they are of value to all my readers I post them online. If you have a question, please feel free to submit it using the contact form. I’ll definitely do my best to answer it. I want – I got reader Shop T.O. Live commented on my “i got: Potion Ankle Boots by Jeffery Campbell” post: I see so many fabulous Jeffrey Campbell shoes/booties posted on style blogs around the world, but I can’t seem to find a lot of selection in Toronto. Can you think of other stores in the city that sell them? I love Jeffrey Campbell and I’ve posted about my own collection. I only know of a few stores in the city that carry them so I contacted Jeffrey Campbell on twitter to verify. Little Burgundy, Browns, Urban Outfitters (store selection varies) and Chasse Gardée all carry JC shoes in Toronto. From my own personal experience the styles featured in all stores varies. Check them all when looking. The @JCShoes twitter account tells me more …

Potion Ankle Boots by Jeffrey Campbell

i got: Potion Ankle Boots by Jeffrey Campbell

I got the Potion Ankle Boots by Jeffrey Campbell a few months back because they reminded me of the Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony C02 Bucklet Boots. The Potion’s are the inspired version and much cheaper. I discovered that Chasse Gardee would be bringing them in, so I sent off a quick email to hold a pair for me. I haven’t gotten to wear them much because of the weather but I can see these being a summer staple. If you are in Toronto you can see if there are any left at Chasse Gardée, 1084 Queen Street West or you can check online at ssense.com (Cdn) or Shopbop.com. images: shopbop.com

i got: Jeffrey Campbell Biz Belted Bootie

I wanted the Jeffrey Campbell Biz Belted Bootie. I figured nowhere in Toronto would carry this style but I was wrong. It figures a new store I’ve been hearing wonderful things about is carrying them, Chasse Gardee. Chasse Gardee has been on my shops to visit list since I heard a friend gushing over this great new store in the West end; Queen and Dovercourt to be exact. I finally got that chance. Lining the exposed brick wall was shoes. The selection was unique and eclectic. You probably won’t find any of the shoes here in any other stores in the city. They also carry handbags and jewellery. Some of the brands you can find are Slow and Steady Wins the Race, Hyde S.K, Jeffrey Campbell and Karen Walker Eyewear. I didn’t make note of any of the other shoe brands. Chasse Gardee 1084 Queen Street West Toronto, Ontario 416-901-9613 You can find the < Jeffrey Campbell Biz boots online at Canadian retailer Ssense.com
