I’ve always been a little confused with sizing, depending on the country of origin (not the places where these items are actually made) they are different. A size 7.5 in the US standard doesn’t translate to 38 oversees like I assumed. I saw this chart on the site luisaviaroma.com and thought I’d post it for your information.
I was featured in the National Post. No, no it’s not recent, it’s from Fashion Week (October 27, 2007). I’m lazy and someone else scanned the paper for me. Check it out, I’m dressed to mill.
StyleShake is this new Internet business where users can create their own dress (using StyleShake templates) to create a custom dresses. The company takes your request and creates the dress you designed. It’s getting press everywhere. I don’t like most of the options available so I’m not very excited. It can’t just be me, there is something way wrong with this bubble hem. The options are expanding so maybe in the future they will have something I don’t find horrible. Check it out and let me know what you think?
A jacket from the Rena Lange Pre-Fall 2008 collection I really like the collar detail on this jacket via thefashionspot.com
So, I just joined a new gym. It was a rather traumatizing experience. My old gym, The Wellington, was my hangout for about 5 years. I knew the staff and many of the squash players there. Extreme Fitness took over after The Sports Clubs of Canada went tits up. At first, I figured they would keep the squash program considering how many people were at the gym for squash. I was wrong, they are dumping the squash program to add internet lounges and stupid yoga studios. I was really pissed off, so I left for the Adelaide Club. The Adelaide Club is the type of club the Wellington only dreams of being (Yes, I’m really bitter). It’s much cleaner with better facilities and they have squash courts that won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. The owner is a big squash fan and player. The club actually had about 12 courts back in the day. To the Wellington’s credit, they did have the some great squash courts. So good that I ignored the rest of the …
A Stupid Bag A latecomer to the to the Anya Hindmarch “I’m Not A Plastic Bag†parodies, I still like these bags. My favourite is “I’m just a f#*king bag”, which is sold out, of course. Others include “I’m a cheap shit bag”, “I’m a very cheap bag” and “I’m just a stupid bag”. My favourite Anya Hindmarch parody still is the I’m not a smug twat bag.
I just got a canned email pitch from a salesman who deals in packaging. Every once in awhile a TFI member decides to email everyone. He’s promising to take I want – I got to the next level. I don’t think this guy realized that I want – I got is a website. I emailed him to let him know that I can’t see how his packaging company is going to help considering it’s not a physical product. Here is a piece of advice for you business folk. If you bother to do a little research before sending out spam emails then you could focus your time on the right potential clients. While I’m posting about things that annoy me. 1. I won’t tell you the trends for 2008/2009. Join TFI and find out yourself. 2. I don’t work for any of the companies that are listed on this site. Don’t ask me to track down some obscure product, I cannot.
Miss Rowe swing coat This piece is from the debut Spring 2008 collection from Miss Rowe. She was at the TFI Press Breakfast, which I missed. A lot of her stuff has a lot of volume but I love this coat.
