i want: Complex Geometries Fall 2010 – 2011

Fall 2010 – 2011 is now available on complexgeometries.com. I’m really loving the sheer pieces this season. Fawn (my favourite store) has also seen some fall delivers, I wonder if Kasha bought any of the sheer pieces this season. Complex Geometries is getting big. Finally Style.com has decided to mention Clayton’s line in their Spring 2011 preview. Congrats Clayton, I’m so glad to see my favourite designers getting recognition by the top players in the fashion industry. Good luck with your show in NYC. images: complexgeometries.com

Wow! Teddy Bear Sneakers by Jeremy Scott x Adidas

I don’t think I have to say to much about these. Jeremy Scott has found a way to make Adidas even more crazy.  I guess the wings weren’t enough.  I find them repulsive yet fascinating. I have a feeling the 1994 raving version of me would have wanted these. I could see the whole rave scene going crazy and they becoming the “it” shoe. The men’s version will be beige. Not sure that agrees with me right now. I wonder if they will stock them at the Adidas Originals store here. I think this solidifies the 90s revival for me. images: Sneaker Freaker Magazine

Lanvin x H&M

You’ve probably heard the news, Lanvin is the next H&M designer collaboration. It’s a men’s and women’s collection by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver. At first I was sad about it and discussed it on twitter a lot. Now I extremely curious as to how this will unfold and what is up H&M’s sleeve. I want to see how they translate this statement “the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public”. Is that some of semantic spin? I think there is a lot of potential for the jewellery in this collaboration.  I’m speculating the clothing will be a lot of the tshirt jersey type pieces, but they may surprise me.  The collection will be released to the world on November 2, 2010 in the form of an online video at www.hm.com. It will then go on sale in North American stores on November 20, 2010 while the rest of the world has to wait until November 23, 2010. “H&M approached us to collaborate and see if we …

X’10 Canada: Xbox 360 Holiday Preview Event

I don’t do much on I want – I got that deals with video games. People send me links to their iPod/iPhone apps but nothing from any of the game companies. That was until the invite to the Xbox 360 holiday preview came through email. Jackpot! There were all types of games at this preview event like the new incarnations of Halo, Fable and Mortal Combat. The Kinect for Xbox 360 system impressed the hell out of me. I want a Kinect Xbox 360 system. I NEED a Kinect Xbox 360 system. Kinect for Xbox 360 brings games and entertainment to life in extraordinary new ways — no controller required. Simple to use and fun to play, Kinect for Xbox 360 allows owners to jump into Kinect-enabled games for any type of play, and the Kinect Hub puts your favourite movies and TV programs, music, live sports, and social networks all in one place. The Kinect sensor recognizes you, responds to your gestures, listens to your voice and works with every Xbox 360 console. That’s …

Star Wars x Adidas Fall Winter 2010 -2011

Star Wars x Adidas is coming back with a new lineup for Fall Winter 2010 – 2011. This series includes shoes from characters like Han Solo, C-3PO and R2-D2, Boba Fett, and Jabba the Hutt. I’m freaking over the Boba Fett shoes, he’s my favourite Star Wars character ever. The Jabba sneaks are really cool. They are a great colour, they are high tops and I love the textured leather.  I have to admit I like them more than the Boba Fett ones. Who doesn’t love some Han in carbonite? That was the theme of these The Empire Strikes Back inspired sneakers. Of course, these won’t come in my size. :(  The collection even features a Wookie jacket. Look for these shoes at the Adidas Originals store on Queen Street and other sneaker shops. ypebeast.com

EDIT by Jeanne Beker Fall Winter 2010 – 2011

A small group of online media joined Jeanne Beker at The Bay headquarters for a preview of EDIT by Jeanne Beker. Since everyone is doing the celebrity lines why not Jeanne. She at least has the years of fashion knowledge that makes it palatable to me. Jeanne never claims to be a designer. She’s partnered with the Corwick Group from Montreal who takes on the designer duties. It was a great experience to have Jeanne at our disposal and she talked about the industry and the changes that have happened with online. She made a crack about how everyone in the room probably weren’t of an age to remember a Pre-Fashion Television world. However, there were a couple of us that chimed in to correct her. Fashion Television is celebrating 25 years and the release of EDIT by Jeanne Beker is to  to coincide with the anniversary. This 25 piece capsule collection will be available in 65 Bay stores in September. It consists of Jeanne’s personal selection of silhouettes and colours she feels are must …

Raquel Zimmerman Dances to Lady Gaga in Gareth Pugh

I’m amazed at how much I enjoy watching Raquel Zimmerman dance around in Gareth Pugh. On 20, 23 and 24 November 2009, world-renowned fashion designer Gareth Pugh took up residence in the LiveStudio to handcraft a one-off garment for SHOWstudio SHOP. The entire process of creation was recorded and broadcast live to a global audience, while Pugh’s final dress was modelled by Raquel Zimmermann in a unique and truly unprecedented one-off performance.

Hermes Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 Ad Campaign

The Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 ad campaign for Hermès is a lot darker than Spring Summer 2010 which was fairytale like.  The Avengers theme from the runway show goes hand in hand with these photos.  It’s like the lovely spy who is decked head to toe in Hermès makes her getaway with her SO Black Kelly.  She just can’t leave her wardrobe so she gets  her kindly old mentor to have them moved to her safe house by carriage.  Of course, this generous act will result in his death.  Yada, yada, yada.  I should write screenplays.  Ha This is the SO Black Kelly that baghounds have been salivating over. I’m salivating too and I totally realize that the black packaging is definitely selling this bag. Model: Constance Jablonski Photographer: Paolo Roversi images: thefashionspot.com
