MyTagalongs Jewellery Sac

geekiviews: MyTagalongs Jewellery Sac

I get sent things from MyTagalongs every once in awhile. I’ve talked about their products previously on I want – I got. To be honest, I wonder why some of their products exist and then I see gems like the Airborne Refillables, disposable underwear and Not-Your Bag Tags (I used these when going to India). I’ve changed my mind about Mytagalongs now and it took one product to do it, the Jewelry Sac. Light, water-resistant nylon carry-o jewelry sac keeps valuables snug and secure with center compartment for neck-laces, bracelets and 8 inside pockets for rings and earrings. This is the most genius product ever. I’m always looking for a way to store my jewellery when traveling. This is the perfect option. It keeps you from over packing too. The sac is $14 and can be purchased online. There are many retailers in Ontario that carry MyTagalongs, check the website for details.

Marc Le Bihan Spring 2010

I’m loving the Spring 2010 collection from Marc Le Bihan. It’s a bit gothic and I love the boots as a styling prop. It’s a great contrast of girly clothing and the masculine hard boot. No retailers in Canada for this Paris based designer, but there are a few in the US. images: marc-lebihan.com

A Rxmance Tshirt

i got: A Rxmance Tshirt

I got this Rxmance Tshirt at Holt Renfrew the other day. It’s a men’s medium shirt. They didn’t have a small available so I decided I could wear as a dress if I wanted. Just slap a belt on it. So I bought it. I absolutely adore the print and I knew if I didn’t own it I would regret it. images: blackbirdballard.com

Rose Cordero in Vogue Paris March 2010

A little over a year ago frillr.com tipped me off about Rose Codero. I was immediately taken that I wrote a post called simply, Rose Cordero. I hoped to see lots of her in FW10. I’m getting my wish. What a year you’ve had Rose, I love seeing you around. The editorial and cover from Vogue Paris are stunning. You can see the full editorial on models.com. images: models.com

Maria Grachvogel Ready to Wear - Fall 2010

Maria Grachvogel Ready to Wear – Fall 2010

It was the prints that attracted me to Maria Grachvogel Fall 2010 collection.  They remind me of the sea, sky and mountains. Maria started her line in 1994 and has been showing at London Fashion week since.  She shuns traditional techniques and doesn’t use fit models but real people.  Sizes run from 2 – 20 and she designs so that the garments flatter all sizes. Maria Grachvogel hand paints each design which is then digitally printed on the fabric. images: nymag.com

Converse Music Collection Spring 2010

Converse Music Collection for Spring 2010 brings us Blondie and The Clash. The Music Collection are “sneakers inspired by iconic bands who defined what it means to rock.” The Blondie styles are made for women. I’m a fan of The Clash so I was super excited about their offerings. The white leather London Calling chucks are amazing. I ended up getting the red skull and bones Hi Tops thanks to the kind folks at Converse. I can’t wait till the weather is nicer so I can wear them.  I seem to be amazing a little Chuck Taylor collection at home, this pair will be number four.  The others were purchased by myself and not gifts, I love my Chuck Taylors. Jeremy Laing Fall Winter 201 Inspiration

Jeremy Laing Ready To Wear – Fall 2010

Jeremy Laing debuts fur and knits for his Fall 2010 collection.  I’m in love.  The huge waffle knit looks so cosy and warm.  I love the fur hoods and snoods.  I can see these being a hot item for fall, especially with the unusual treatment and colours. Beaver, raccoon, and muskrat pelts come from sustainably hunted animals in Canada. Jeremy was inspired by: “Elements of the Canadian northwest coast: from the curvilinear style of Native American graphics appearing on totems, boxes and midcentury art prints to the rich colors and textures of the redwood forest.” This collection was an exploration of texture and surface.  Most elements of this collection I loved but I did feel that it was a little all over the place.  I’m on the fence with what I call the sky print (it looks like a night sky full of stars).  I want to see it in person or on video because I think the camera isn’t doing it justice. Proenza Schouler Ready to Wear - Fall 2010

Proenza Schouler Ready to Wear – Fall 2010

The Proenza Schouler fall 2010 show was fun. It had the bumping runway music and I loved the clothing. It was very preppy and collegiate in a way. The graffiti print denim, a collaboration with J Brand, gave the preppy a bit of an edge. The shoes however were beyond stupid and ugly. I wondering why everyone walked so funny during the show. It’s because of these Completely, totally, completely ugly! images: style.com
