Neil Barrett Ready to Wear – Mens Spring Summer 2009

the Fashion Spot – Neil Barrett Mens S/S 09 Milan I really love this look from Neil Barrett’s collection. Two things to note. 1. Stirrup pants on Men are wrong, wrong, wrong. And in leather infinitely wrong. 2. The new pant silhouette for women is the cigar shape (3rd Thumbnail, click for a bigger look). It certainly doesn’t work for everyone. If you see a hint of hip, forget it. Neil Barrett does some nice ones though. images: thefashionspot.com

Jeremy Laing in W

Jeremy Laing is in the July 2008 issue of W mag. Here is a teaser scan, but go out and get a copy. I got mine. He is part of the Summer Camp editorial shot by Bruce Weber. The link has a slideshow of some of the images. There is a lot of naked Lara Stone, Daria and Kate Moss all over the place, be warned. School’s out, and the livin’ is easy. The latest flock of new designers hits the road with some top models and friends for a little fun—dressed or not—under the Miami sun.

Ask a Geek: Where to find Marc by Marc Jacobs in Toronto

Sometimes readers ask me questions. If they are of value to all my readers I post them online. If you have a question, please feel free to submit it using the contact form. I’ll definitely do my best to answer it. I want – I got reader Annie wrote: Hi Anita, I’m desperately looking for the Marc by Marc Jacobs Grovee Dr. Q purse in the brown colour. My friend’s birthday is this weekend and she’s been yearning for it. Do you know of any other store in Toronto aside from Holt who sells Marc by Marc? Thank you! I hope you don’t mind me sharing your question Annie! Holt Renfrew sells Marc by Marc handbags along with the Marc Jacobs line and Bloor Street is your best bet for selection. Holt Renfrew also carries Marc by Marc Jacobs womenswear, footwear, watches and jewellery. I did some searching on the net and found out that David’s Footwear also sells Marc by Marc handbags and shoes. I believe those are the 2 major players in Toronto. …

geekiviews: Sex in the City movie

Yes, even though I really don’t care, I saw Sex in the City. I knew that MJ would want me to see it with him. We went on Saturday, the theater was empty and the butter was real. The movie was way too long, painfully long. The storyline was predictably awful, but there were a few really good laughs. That theme song, hideous. That pretty much sums up the average Sex in the City fan to me, people who think Fergie is cool. The moving going crowd was fantastic, there wasn’t a short skirt or a stiletto in the place. The fashion was the only reason I cared and it was pretty intense. MJ and I played “what’s she wearing” the whole time. The product placement was totally ridiculous and I wonder how much money changed hands. Most of the outfits were just awful. The fashion show scene was completely laughable. I always hate fashion show scenes in movies (except Zoolander). People really identify with this movie. Is it true women go to New York …
