I’m celebrating my birth with one of my favourite magazines, the Worn Fashion Journal. Join me and the Worn Team celebrate the closing of the ART & SOLE exhibition. The ART & SOLE exhibition (May 21 – June 6) will feature twenty-four interpretations of that understated fash classic, Keds. The exhibit will close with a v. fashionable gala (cocktails! hor d’oevres! 1960s Motown/Stax/Hi Records music courtesy of Shake a Tail DJs!) and live auction fundraiser which will give our readers the chance to bid on these wonderful creations, with a portion of proceeds supporting Fashion Cares (in support of ACT). The animated image above displays some of the shoes in the collection. Attendees of SOL(e)D! will also have access to all exhibits in the museum, cheap drinks and free food. Max Kibardin Spring 2009 Shoes These blue brouges are amazing. A black tux with these shoes would be a perfect outfit for the Texstyle: Androgyny party at the Textile Museum of Canada. These heels remind me of superheroes or the greek myth of Icarus.
I was reading the Footwear News section of WWD and came across designer sketches for the Spring 2010 collection. I find the different drawing styles fascinating in footwear sketches. The impossible arch and exaggerated foot proportions draw me in. Rupert Sanderson, Alexandra Neel, Giuseppe Zanotti, Max Kibardin, Omelle images: Spring Sketch Preview – WWD.com
Ann Demeulemeester Boots I’m obsessed with the Demeulemeester boot in all shapes and forms. image: jakandjil.com
I was reading nitrolicious and she posted the shoes from the Omelle Fall 2009 collection. There were some interesting choices and fur was predominate. I fell in love with these are first sight. They are one of the shoes that you look at puzzled at first but they suck you into their randomness. I haven’t seen a shoe with this type of detailing yet. I have a feeling they look fantastic on. These booties are very cool too. They look like felt to me, which would be an interesting development. I’m still looking for my over the knee boots, these would make a good option Yup, no fur in my choices. They weren’t completely hideous, but definitely not my style. Necklush.com I was browsing through Etsy one day and discovered the Necklush. It’s part scarf and part chunky necklace. I needed to have one. So, I put in my order. I also found them on twitter and told them I was excited to receive my Necklush. They told me that each one is made to order and that I should expect it soon. I kinda wish I bought a thicker stranded Necklush. I would suggest that anyone who is interested in buying one to get the thicker versions. The colour schemes are varied enough to suit everyone’s taste whether it’s a neutral or a bright colour. I had a very, very hard time deciding which one to choose. So hard, that I’m already scoping out my next purchase. Perhaps the Supreme Necklush :). The Necklush can be worn in a number of ways and they even produced a video for customers. Necklush is made from cut cotton loops. We screenprint the designs ourselves, making the multicolored ones very limited. Necklush can be worn as a …
I was invited to a unique brunch event at La Perlerie a bead boutique and flameworking studio in the west end of Toronto. It was a way for Susan Nagy, owner of La Perlerie to reach out to several tastemakers in the city and talk to us about what she does at the boutique. La Perlerie bead boutique and flameworking studio features hand-made flameworked beads made in house, semi-precious stones, woods, resins, glass and Austrian crystal. They also do custom jewllery work where they work closely with the client to come up with the design for any occasion or use. Susan has also launched her first collection of sculptural neckpieces using a combination of wireworking techniques and handmade glass beads. La Perlerie also offers courses in Glass Beadmaking. Classes are taught by renowned Flameworking Artist and Jewellery Designer – Nadia Tasci. La Perlerie is working hand-in-hand with Sterling Silver Artist Karen Lamont of Citrus (www.citrussilver.com), to provide customers with a truly unique gift of a Sterling Silver Pendant, hand-stamped with words of the customer’s choosing. …

Supra NS Sneakers High-tops, high-tops, high-tops. I’m all about the high-top and the Supra NS are speaking to me. I’m dying for a pair of gold sneakers and these are nice. However, I love the fabric treatment on the grey option. The multibuckle shoe is my favorite style of the three Available at STOLENRICHES®. 734 Queen St. West Toronto 647.428.7497 Info@stolenriches.ca
