I was very impressed with my Buy Design Outfit that I thought I should dedicate a post to it. This the best full body shot I have at the moment. I happen to love this photo also. The fur caplet is Bear. Yes, you read that right Bear. I don’t own it. It was rented from a great vintage shop call The Refinery (588 Markham St.). I enjoyed every second wearing that caplet. It also was the focal point of my outfit. The top is Greta Constantine. You can’t see the back, but it’s basically non-existent on this shirt. The leggings are Member’s Only. The shoes are Nine West, a Balenciaga knockoff I’m told. I lived in these sandals last summer and plan on doing the same this summer. Purple Clutch is YSL. The feathered headpiece is from KC Hats (998 Bathurst St). I never imagined that the headpiece would work without hair, but I was proven wrong in the studio and I left the studio with it in a bag. images: Raymund Galsim, Gail …
Nappa Wide Ankle Strape Sandals I had no idea that Hussein Chalayan did shoes. I don’t like a lot of the sandals that have the added material but he manages to make it look good.
Proenza Schouler Spring 2009 Shoes Lev Lino Okay the crazy heels at Proenza Schouler have won me over. Green Nero These boots, so ridiculous but so attractive. The open toed sandal boot combo is working for me and I’m loving the heel detail. images: zappos.com
Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent Olympia Black Leather Sandals You wouldn’t know by the weather in Toronto but it’s Springtime and I’m getting sandals on the brain. I’m kinda over my gladiators. I barely wore them last year as I didn’t have the heart. There were too many bad knee-high gladiator boot sandal things going on and in horrible colour schemes too. I’m now looking for more interesting sandals to fill the void. This is where these Olympia Black Leather Sandals from Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent come in. You can purchase these sandals through the Canadian online retailer S|Sense. Shipping is free for Canada.
I found this posts called The Reaction that had the buyers explaining the footwear trends from Fall 2009 – 2010 season. You can read the original articles at The Reaction on WWD.com – March 9, 2009 and The Reaction – WWD.com – March 16, 2009 Barbara Atkin, VP of Fashion Direction, Holt Renfrew Strongest Trends: “The extreme platform and sky-high heel, but also the return of the single sole. Strappy winter shoes that can transition from season to season. The overdesigned statement shoe is still important, and the ankle boot is strong with cutouts.†“Must-Carry†Styles From Milan: Gucci’s thigh-high, long stocking boots Burberry Prorsum’s rubber platform hiking boot Prada’s single-sole Mary Janes with studding and fringe Shift in Buying Strategy: “We are not going to be overly assortive, or as broad as we have been in the past. Rather, we’ll offer the most important DNA from each collection that speaks to our strong point of view.†Stephanie Solomon, Fashion Director, Bloomingdale’s Strongest Trends: “The decorated shoe, over-the-top embellishment with feathers, beads, buckles and nailheads. …
I just discovered this incredible shoe company called Omelle. They have some great original designs that aren’t too girly. They have an edge. Artist by Omelle The Artist is my favourite in the amazing Spring 2009 collection, it has a very different design. Check out the back of this shoe, HOT people, HOT! Dillon by Omelle There is no one in Toronto selling these (What is wrong with Toronto!!!!!) but you can get them in Vancouver at Baccis.
Church’s Classic Burwood brogues I love red shoes so much and these brogues are hot. These are a great addition to any menswear inspired outfit.
Jimmy Choo Samoa Kid sandals I’m not a Choo fan in the least, but the cutout detail in this shoe has me salivating.
Y-3 Shibutsu boot Oh Yohji, you tempt me so with these boots.
