The Oracle stared at my Weekend Bag by m0581. “This”, he said complete with hand gestures, “has to go.” It’s true, my beautiful robin’s egg blue bag had seen better days. So for Christmas, I received theMarc by Marc Jacobs Tobo Handbag as a replacement. I helped pick it out too. I love the colour and the fact it’s made out of neoprene. I received a package containing a pair of Zip Ankle Jean Legging in Black by Joe’s Jeans from Holt Renfrew PR just before Christmas. Jean Leggings were never something I would have tried before this package arrived. I hate to say it, I’ve drunk the koolaid, I like them. When I pulled them out of the magenta bag, they looked a little small. I’ve come to realize that you need to buy them smaller than you think. They are denim and do stretch a bit. They are comfortable, it was the first thing that surprised me. They are like wearing non-denim leggings. The fabric is stretchy and soft. The zippers on the side make it easy to put on and remove. I checked out the stash at Holt’s. They have a ton of different styles included distressed denim, acid wash and tie dye. The price range is $116 – $140. The pair I have are $128. I attended the Adidas Spring 2010 preview day where I saw the Adidas Originals Spring 2010 collection. I also saw the adidas by Stella McCartney and Jeremy Scott for Adidas Spring 2010 collections during the same visit. There wasn’t too much from the Originals collection that grabbed me. I attended the Adidas Spring 2010 preview day where I saw the Jeremy Scott for Adidas Spring 2010 collection. I also saw the adidas by Stella McCartney Spring 2010 collection during the same visit. Jeremy Scott for Adidas is outrageous. At first, I wasn’t really sure what to make of it all. After digesting his design style and wearing some of his stuff for a photoshoot, I have to admit I like some of the ideas Jeremy comes up with. I guess this runs in the it’s so bad it’s good territory. I also like that the line is fairly androgynous. The shoes are my favourite part of the line. I attended the Adidas Spring 2010 preview day where I saw the adidas by Stella McCartney Spring 2010 collection. This season Stella expands to include Triathlon and Cycling. I had no idea that there has been Golf clothing in the line for a few seasons. I’ve always really liked the Adidas by Stella jackets and sweaters. There are always some interesting details. This season zippers and metallics caught my eye. It’s funny that she’s even following the jean leggings trend except her leggings aren’t denim. 2009 was the year of speaking engagements for me. The lovely Rea McNamara created The Style Council (she also got me glammed up as Grace for Eye Weekly). She asked me to facilitate a session on fashion blogging and also give a demo of fashion styling tools: Polyvore, Looklet and Shmmoter. The Style Council is a fashion media program that brings together a collective of emerging writers, stylists, and photographers in documenting their own style, as well as what they see on the very streets they walk. Watch us create Toronto’s first community-driven Stylebook, which will focus on the unique styles of the Dufferin Eglinton / Oakwood Vaughan communities. The Style Council is a pilot program of Art Starts, an arts-based community development organization that has been operating in Toronto since 1992. It was very relaxed atmosphere for this presentation. The girls sat on couches while I talked and showed examples on the projector. If you haven’t heard Adidas is doing a Star Wars collection. People are going going crazy for the adidas x Star Wars Spring 2010. I’m liking the graphic tshirts a lot. I’m also a fan of the Tie Fighter, Stormtrooper and Millennium Falcon sneakers. See the full Star Wars X Adidas Spring 2010 Lookbook at Sneaker Freaker. Livestock has received the first drop of shoes and will be carrying the Stormtrooper and Vader sneakers. I’ve heard that they will also be available for sale online in January.
