Town Shoes recently sent this teaser image of some of the new fall winter 2010 – 2011 collections from Philip Sparks and David Dixon.
I’m so glad to see this designer shoe collaboration continuing to be a success. Every year the shoes get better and better. I’m dying over the Philip Sparks boots. If only they came in a men’s 6, I would be in heaven.

Stuart Weitzman is scheduled to open the last week of August week of August 16, 2010 in The Eaton Centre.
Stuart Weitzman opens its first stand-alone store at the Toronto Eaton Centre (TEC) in August. The downtown Toronto location marks the third opening for Stuart Weitzman brand boutiques in Canada, having recently launched at Rockland Center and Carrefour Laval in Québec. Within the next several years, the plans are to roll out a limited number of brand boutiques in select locations across the country.
The 1,506 square foot store has a captivating atmosphere with an innovative interior design of ribbon detailing. Designed by famed Italian architect Fabio Novembre, who collaborates with Stuart Weitzman on its store designs, this unique modern retail concept has become a recognized worldwide icon of the brand. With a palette of vanilla/gray tones, the stores transcend into a modern contemporary space showcasing Stuart Weitzman’s shoes and handbags.
The shop will carry the full collection of shoes and handbags. It will be interesting to see what shops drop Stuart Weitzman (there are a lot that carry this brand right now). It will be equally interesting to see what shops pick up instead.

Balmain x Oliver Peoples
I have to admit the Balmain x Oliver Peoples collaboration is pretty nice.
For the 2010 season, Paris couture house Balmain collaborated with Oliver Peoples to create its first eyewear design. This Limited Edition sunglass, named simply Balmain I, is a bold, unisex style that reflects the edgy aesthetics developed by designer Christophe Decarnin on the runway. Featuring an exaggerated teardrop lens shape in a form-fitting wrap, the Balmain I is a mixed-media style, crafted with a metal top bar and temples, and an acetate eyewire. Unified with four screws along the backside, the frame also features a flexible hinge for added comfort. Two color options are available: solid black and a black/silver combination.
EDIT: I’ve discovered a Canadian retailer. Unfortunately it’s only in Toronto, Spectacle.

I loving the accessories from Maison Martin Margiela Resort 2011. I find that I love MMM accessories more than the clothing. The Resort 2011 collection had some very wearable pieces but left me uninterested. I really wasn’t into the fall 2010 haute couture collection either.

I tried on this cute military style dress by Marc by Marc Jacobs at Holt Renfrew. It looks like a Celine knockoff. It’s like Marc took an old military coat and made it a dress. It closes with a set of buttons that are covered by the zipper. It’s super cute.

Examining key pieces from next seasons international collections, Object Fetish trains obsessive attention onto next seasons not-so-obscure objects of desire – namely the choicest accessories from fashions favourite names, metaphorically unpicked through film and text.
The last Object Fetish video I showed you was for the Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 Chanel Ice Cube Handbags. This video takes on Alexander McQueen’s final Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 collection. The Fetish is shoes. The object is pictured above. The video isn’t on youtube yet so you will have to visit the Object Fetish – SHOWstudio site to watch. It’s well worth it, the shoes is one of the more ornate things I’ve ever seen. I really wish SHOWstudio would have embeddable movies.
