Through twitter I discovered a locally based online vintage store called Shrimpton Couture. They focus on luxury items and but there are many beautiful dresses and accessories that start at $125. Shrimpton Couture also writes a vintage column for Herald de Paris. Here are some of my i wants from Shrimpton Couture, seriously drool worthy stuff. The one I covet most is the Restored Couture Flapper. This is a truly stunning couture level 1920s dress that has been fully restored. All the seams and beading have been re-inforced and the collar has been refinished with a silver silk satin ribbon edging. The main body of the dress is the original fabric but each panel was meticulously replaced and the fabric matched exactly. 2006 McQueen Dress – need I say more. I love the image on the landing page for Jeremy Laing website. It doesn’t look as impressive in this image so I suggest you click on the Jeremy Laing link to get a look at it in its glory. I just wanted to mention the image because it was so striking, but this is an i want post and the object of my affection is Jeremy Laing’s Fall 2009 – 2010 collection. I love it when Jeremy posts the collection on his site. You get photos from another angle and get to see some the details that you’d miss otherwise. There is a lot of beautiful details in this collection. Doesn’t this just scream wear me. The gloves, the little swish of the skirt, the freaking collar. I want! Yes, you read that heading right. I do have a dress named after me. Joy!!!!!! I was super honoured to find out, as I had no idea this was coming. Up until a few weeks ago, I didn’t even know what the dress looked like. People were asking me about it and all I could say is that it’s Greta Constantine, it will be amazing. You have seen photos of my Erdem dress during |FAT|. It was a super find at the Hazel Liquidation Sale. It was 90% off coming in at a cool $73. It’s from the Fall 2008 collection. The show has other garments in the same print, but not this simple dress design. Erdem is known for his prints and they are breathtaking. I could frame this dress and be very happy looking at the print, but it’s much more fun to wear. Erdem can be found at The Room in The Bay.
