So, I was shopping with a male friend who decided to buy an Equmen Core Precision Undershirt. It’s goes by the male girdle when people are being snarky. The buzz about these types of products has increased in the last year and I was dying to get access to a user of the product. Regular readers know I’m a fan of shapewear. It’s not about losing a lot of inches, but smoothing to leave clean lines. I had a feeling that the men’s version is similar in principle. I learned a bit more about the marketing from the website. There were three things the Men of the World need that Equmen delivers according to the website. The weight angle: I WANT TO LOOK AND FEEL SLIMMER Look and feel more fit with style. Equmen’s CORE PRECISION UNDERSHIRT will help to trim and tone your physique for a more tailored look. Streamlines Torso. Targeted compression wraps around core to trim stomach and smooth love handles. Straightens Posture. Pulls the shoulders back to deliver a taller, more …
The most interesting couture presentation was done by Adeline André. It consisted of one look for men and one look for women. To demonstrate her patented three-armhole design (and reveal just how much fabric went into each piece), the four items, including a shirt, jacket and coat for men, were first pegged on a clothesline before being donned by the models. The women’s look, a layered silk crepe dress merging from flesh color tones to pinks and reds, took minutes to put on as meters of fabric and a staggering 21 armholes were wound around. “I wanted to show my work, and the history of the armholes, in a very precise way,†André said. Jeeves & Wooster Pendant Lights by Jake Phipps THIS. THIS. THIS. What else is there to say about these amazing pendant lights. They would make a great addition to any sartorially inspired home. Love. The Jeeves & Wooster pendant lights were designed as a playful take on lighting with a real sense of cultural identity. The hat is an object that often associates its wearer with a particular society, heritage or race. The bowler and top hat are classic British cultural icons reflecting a bygone era of imperialism, class divide, and eccentricity. via Iconique Magazine
So, I planned to do an “i want” post around SpinTO when I signed on as a media sponsor. Initially, it was going to be a menswear and womenswear post, but I decided to make it all about me. The i want: Sporty SpinTO Style post went over well. Well the boys want their own post now. So this is the Male version of i want: Sporty SpinTO Style aka the Male Model Edition. We can’t have a sporty style post without Canadian boys, DSquared2. This is the bread and butter. This is for the daring man. While the more modest can get into the Solid Gold them with these little gold shorts. Of course, Dolce & Gabbana, you can’t do sporty without them. These short shorts for men are perfectly acceptable to me 🙂 To round out the list we need Mr. Roberto Cavalli, which should inspire men looking to wear swimsuits. So, this is my idealized version of male Sporty SpinTO Style. There is no corresponding bicycle short trend in menswear right now. …

Philip Sparks Ready to Wear – Fall 2009- 2010 Lookbook Philip told me that his theme for fall was Peter and the Wolf. I thought it was an interesting concept. I had no idea that Philip would execute it to such perfection. I’m in love with this menswear collection. It’s the best Philip Sparks collection yet. The everything about this lookbook is perfection. The models, the backdrop, the clothing, the fur. Congratulations on such a wonderful collection Philip, I can’t wait to see this in March. images: Philip Sparks Fall 2009 | The Fashionisto.
Market Research – Tokyo Although not part of its cultural tradition, Japan fully embraces the fun – and commercial spirit – of Christmas. As the festive season draws nearer, Monocle’s house model hits the streets to fill his basket for a toasty night with an equally hot companion. Monocle’s male editorials are my favourite right now. This edition of geekiviews features a guest blogger, The Grumpy Owl. He’s a guy and the Cromwell and Cruthers Shaving Oil is for men. So it made sense that he review it instead of me. I hate oiling up my body. It’s the sort of the thing that one should have a person for. Preferably young, buxom and foreign. So, when Geekigirl gave me a plastic vial of Cromwell and Cruthers Shaving Oil, I viewed the product with some trepidation. Oil is bad enough but shaving is worse. The last time I combined the two, I spent an entire weekend cleaning hair, blood and assorted perfumes from my sheets. It was not an experience I was looking to repeat. But geekigirl quickly explained that I was to use this product to shave myself. Specifically, my face. While alone. I might not like oil or shaving but I do love my face. So I decided to give this shaving oil a whirl. Having used it for the past few weeks, I now feel competent to review …
