Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2011

I’m dying over the Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2011 collection. I want everything that has a print on it. Surprisingly the only things I dislike in this collection is the solid colour pieces. I was told that the ikat print would be coming in spring and I’ve seen many collections make use of it. Seems this print will be rolling into fall too. I love the chunky sweaters and the awkward length shorts.  It’s true, this is a collection for people on the taller side and I’m just on the cusp of that allows me to participate.  Thank you platforms. images: thefashionspot.com

i want: Graffiti-print high-waisted jeans by Proenza Schouler x JBrand

Graffiti-print high-waisted jeans by Proenza Schouler x JBrand The collaboration of Proenza Schouler and JBrand. The denim is high waisted and the print is hand painted on. They come in white on black, blue on black and black on black. I like the blue on black the best. If you are looking to do a DIY recreation, check out nylonmag.com. roenza Schouler x JBrand are available on proenzaschouler.com, net-a-porter and luisaviaroma.com. images: net-a-porter.com, luisaviaroma.com

Proenza Schouler Spring Summer 2011

Proenza Schouler used a lot of shibori techniques in the Spring Summer 2011 collection. Shibori is several methods of dyeing cloth to create a pattern by binding, stitching, folding, twisting, compressing it, or capping the fabric. “We wanted it to be a little more polished,” Jack McCollough said backstage, before Lazaro Hernandez jumped in: “So we took all these feminine codes—the embroideries, the flowers—and mixed them up in our own way. We wanted to do something without any obvious references.”(Source). I was very happy to see that Proenza Schouler was using neon this spring summer 2011 season.  The prints are beautiful. You’ll want to check out Tommy Ton’s behind the scenes at Proenza Schouler Spring Summer 2011 photo post on Jak & Jil. He’s got some really great shots. Proenza Schouler Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 Ad Campaign

I liked the Proenza Schouler Fall Winter 2010 collection. I didn’t care much for the shoes and I don’t care much for the ad campaign. The girls are too thin and it’s distracting. The campaign video is much better. It has some good lingering shots of the clothing. EDIT: Boo they took the video down. However you can view it online at www.proenzaschouler.com images: thefashionspot.com

Proezna Schouler Pre Fall 2010

Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2010 Accessories

Twitter was all a flutter over the newly released Proenza Schouler Pre Fall 2010 Accessories. I was wondering what all the hubbub was about and then I saw the collection. I’m not usually one to like fur on shoes but I like the restraint used with the first two shoes pictured. It does seem a little weird to be selling fur lined sandals for pre-fall though. The shoes are really inventive and I’m loving the green creeper/Dr. Martens influenced shoe.  The handbags are to die for.  Totally classic and ladylike. images: proenzaschouler.com

Proenza Schouler Ready to Wear - Fall 2010

Proenza Schouler Ready to Wear – Fall 2010

The Proenza Schouler fall 2010 show was fun. It had the bumping runway music and I loved the clothing. It was very preppy and collegiate in a way. The graffiti print denim, a collaboration with J Brand, gave the preppy a bit of an edge. The shoes however were beyond stupid and ugly. I wondering why everyone walked so funny during the show. It’s because of these Completely, totally, completely ugly! images: style.com

Proenza Schouler Ready to Wear – Spring 2010

On first glance I didn’t think much of Proenza Schouler. It didn’t look that special and I glossed over it. It was only after I saw a shot of the shoes that I decided to investigate a bit more. I’m a fan now. I don’t know how I could have rejected feathers and neon like that before. I’ve learned my lesson. images: nymag.com
