I’m such a huge Moncler fan after purchasing my Moncler S ‘Shihoko’ Trench coat last year. It’s my favourite spring/fall jacket right now. I really want to get a winter coat by Moncler S but that time has passed and I’m now obsessing over the spring 2012 Moncler S Navy Yukari Coat. It’s a simple jacket but I love the asymmetric hem and drawstring. images: ssense.com
Givenchy Spring Summer Couture 2012. What else is there to say but wow. Riccardo Tisci was influenced by Fritz Lang’s Metropolis and Aelita for the Spring Summer 2012 Haute Couture collection. The crocodile gown took some 350 hours produce. The atelier would disassemble a skin, bleach it, re-dye it and remount it on tulle. It’s just incredible. I love that this shoot had a basketball theme. It was shot in the oldest gymnasium in Paris. I wasn’t a fan of the oversized nose rings and earrings. They looked more painful than beautiful. Le sigh, these shoes are divine. I hate celebrity fashion but here is a photo of Zoe Saldana wearing one of the gowns from the collection. Iris Van Herpen and United Nude teamed up to create the most intense footware for her Haute Couture Spring Summer 2012 show. If I was a collector of expensive, elaborate shoes these would be at the top of my wishlist. I can only look with my shoe budget. Models stepped out in “Fang†shoes with ten sharp teeth to each foot – the product of van Herpen’s fifth successful collaboration with United Nude. If I was 19 again, I would be all over the Loulou Tuxedo Crop Super Skinny Jean by Hudson. The style is inspired by LouLou de la Falaise, Yves Saint Laurent’s muse. She was a big influence in the design of Le Smoking. The thing that makes these tuxedo inspired jeans special is the glow in the dark neon strip that comes to life under black light. The rave going 19 year old me would have freaked. Here is a trippy video that shows the denim in action created by Hudson. The Loulou Tuxedo Crop Super Skinny Jean comes in three colourways: Dark Navy with Phosphorescent Orange stripe, Burgundy with Phosphorescent Pink, and Olive with Phosphorescent Yellow. Holt Renfrew is the place to get this denim from and it will retail for $265. Can I have a Givenchy surfboard please? I love the clash of two things I love in this ad campaign, Givenchy and Surfing. I’ve never surfed before (only Boogieboarding in Barbados as a child) but I’m really attracted to life by the water and board sports. OBJECT, the collaboration from George Antonopolous and Danier Leather kicks it up a notch for Spring Summer 2012 with lots of colour. I’m drooling. I’m impressed by this collaboration. George, how the fuck did you get Danier to agree to all this colour? Canadians aren’t know for their colourful ways and I applaud Danier for listening to George and taking this colour risk. I hope Canadians get it and jump into colour this summer. I seriously love the whole collection. Bravo George and bravo Danier. I had to do a double take when these Chanel Spring Summer 2012 ad campaign shots came out. What the hell was Joan Smalls doing in a Chanel ad. My head was exploding (this was a good thing in this situation). First, Indian girls in the Chanel Pre-Fall 2012 show and now Joan Smalls in the latest ad campaign. I like this trend. As for this ad campaign overall. Joan doesn’t have as many solo shots as Saskia. The photos are lovely but ultimately pretty boring.
