Chanel Couture Spring 2010

Chanel Couture Spring 2010

I enjoyed Chanel’s Spring 2010 couture show even though I disliked the hair. It was nice to see Karl move to a softer colour palette in the pastels and silver. According to style.com, this is the first Karl has shown Chanel without black, navy or gold buttons.

It was all very ladylike with the contrast of the silver rococo heel booties. The Chanel suits were my favourite pieces.

I mentioned disliking the hair. Too much Bride of Frankenstein for me, however I do appreciate the technique and effort put into it. It’s quite astonishing to see the intricacies of the back.

i want: Space Invader Handbags

Lana, an I want – I got reader, emailed a link to the London, Ontario based fashion eshop, Dress911.com. I get sent a few links and sometimes they intrigue me and sometimes they don’t.

The concept of our store is clothing that is both vintage inspired and presented by smaller designers. Our selection ranges from garden picnics to cocktail parties, styles from movie stars of yesteryear to the latest revived fashion on magazine covers, liberating indie designs to humble simplicity. Each piece is unique and is a statement.

Space Invader Handbags

I was trolling the site which features a lot of vintage inspired clothing, when I noticed these great Space Invaders Handbags. I love!

If I saw a Galaga version of the handbag, I would have freaked out with excitement.  Galaga is my favourite video game ever.

IDS10: I want – I got Favourite Things Part 3

I love wandering the aisles of The Interior Design Show floor scanning for things that catch my eye.  This year Paul and I avoided the products.  We were on a tight timeline and learned what to focus on from last year.  Sleek kitchen appliance and tiling are not things I’m too interested in or have use for on I want – I got.  This is the final post in my three part series called IDS10: I want – I got Favourite Things.

IDS10 Favourite Things Andrew Richard Designs x Bustle

IDS10 I want - I got Favourite Things Tsunami Glassworks

EDIT:  Jan 29, 2010 late night blogging.  Not good.  Wrong picture was attached originally.  Corrected picture is above. Tsunami Glassworks – It was the first thing I saw as my head peaked over the escalator stairs. It’s an attention grabber and reminds me of a large lava lamp minus the glass and fluid.

IDS10: I want - I got Favourite Things Jamie Hayon
Jamie Hayon – I was sad to miss his talk on Trade Day. I also left the party at Jonathan + Olivia party as he was arriving. So, I didn’t get to meet him. 🙁

Hermes Spring 2010 Ad Campaign

Hermès Spring 2010 Ad Campaign

These two images from the Hermès Spring 2010 Ad Campaign are beautiful. Karlie Kloss amazes me. I remember when she first started and now she is the darling. She takes amazing pictures and she’s improved her runway walk a lot. She’s like Kate Moss in her domination of ad campaigns this season.
