Lanvin x H&M Fall 2010 Illustrations

The Lanvin x H&M Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 Preview gave me access to the H&M press site which had all kinds of multimedia to download. The illustration above was part of the invite I received for the preview. I found two more illustrations from Alber Elbaz on the site. They call them illustrations but it looks like Alber used pieces of fabric from the collection to create people and clothing. images: courtesy of H&M

Lanvin x H&M Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 Preview

I attended the Lanvin x H&M preview this week at the AGO. I was given the opportunity to view the collection in person and get all touchy feeling. I’m very impressed with the collection. The fabrics are well done and there are more than a few pieces that I really like. They’ve done a great job to translating Lanvin luxury to the H&M market. The collection is basically favourites from previous collections made at a mass market level. The clothing has shape and the right fabrics to hold and create it.  It’s mostly synthetic but that’s pretty much what Lanvin at the luxury level is too.   I ran into Tommy Ton at the preview and we browsed the racks together for a bit.  He was impressed with the fabric too.  He’s excited about the men’s pants. I was impressed with the packaging. It’s beautiful.  Lovely boxes that are perfect for reuse.  The garment bags are cloth and beautiful. Sometimes the packaging is just as exquisite as the item it contains. Hermes certainly knows what they …

Lanvin x H&M Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 Video

You’ve probably heard the news, Lanvin is the next H&M designer collaboration. It’s a men’s and women’s collection by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver. There have been some photos to show up but finally here is a great video that shows a lot of the looks. I’m getting a preview of the collection on Wednesday and I’m super pumped to see this stuff in person. It’s gonna be awesome or crap. I still think that their is a lot of potential in the jewellery department. I’ll be paying close attention. You can see Lanvin for H&M Women’s Lookbook images on nitrolicious.com.

Lanvin Spring Summer 2011

It seems almost impossible to dislike anything Alber Elbaz touches. The Lanvin woman is a bit softer from spring 2011. The Klingon warrior women from fall 2010 is taking the season off. I’m not salivating over the shoes and jewellery like I normally do. I guess I’m not feeling the butterfly theme. I really like the bags though. They are those small to medium structured handbags that are all over the runways right now. I’m pretty much a sucker for full skirts that billow when you walk. I’m all over anything with movement. It’s dramatic and explains my love of this collection. There isn’t any full fashion show videos out yet, but here are a couple to give you a taste images: style.com

Lanvin x H&M

You’ve probably heard the news, Lanvin is the next H&M designer collaboration. It’s a men’s and women’s collection by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver. At first I was sad about it and discussed it on twitter a lot. Now I extremely curious as to how this will unfold and what is up H&M’s sleeve. I want to see how they translate this statement “the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public”. Is that some of semantic spin? I think there is a lot of potential for the jewellery in this collaboration.  I’m speculating the clothing will be a lot of the tshirt jersey type pieces, but they may surprise me.  The collection will be released to the world on November 2, 2010 in the form of an online video at www.hm.com. It will then go on sale in North American stores on November 20, 2010 while the rest of the world has to wait until November 23, 2010. “H&M approached us to collaborate and see if we …

Lanvin Opens First New York Store

Lanvin has opened it’s first New York store at 815 Madison Avenue. I must stop by when I’m in New York again. It looks opulent. And now it has one. Lanvin is poised to open at the end of the week its first location here at 815 Madison Avenue near 68th Street. The store will occupy 3,550 square feet and the first three floors of a 6,875-square-foot, five-story town house. The two upper floors will become the company’s corporate headquarters in September. “My dream when I started at Lanvin was to create this kind of luxury supermarket,” Elbaz said. “It would have everything you needed — T-shirts, bridal dresses, jeans, handbags, jewelry and shoes. I really believe the whole concept of going to a store when you need something. Women have enough. What I have to do is make their life easy. The product is all about dreams. In the store, everything is very clear.” Lanvin is planning to open a store in Beijing, Elbaz said, adding: “That will be the next project.” The company …

Lanvin Resort 2011

These Lanvin Resort 2011 group shots make me happy. Who wouldn’t be overjoyed frolicking around in Lanvin. I’m loving the platform wedges, especially in animal skin. A friend of mine who is a buyer listed the Lanvin Resort 2011 collection as one of his favourites. Stunning and gorgeous he says. images: style.com and wwd.com

Lanvin Bridal Spring Summer 2010

Lanvin Bridal Spring Summer 2010

Leave it to Lanvin to make bridal I like. I was trolling Net-a-Porter and saw items from the bridal line that I’ve heard lots about but never have seen until now. I’m a big fan of the dresses on the right in the images. The short ruffled one is my absolute favourite. What a fun dress to get married in and you wouldn’t even have to change for the reception. After the wedding, dye it another colour and you have a dress you can wear at other occasions. images: net-a-porter.com
