Geox is getting closer

I was in the Eaton Centre today and noticed that there is going to be a Geox store opening. This is very exciting. Geox makes the most comfortable shoes you will ever wear. They keep your feet cool and dry all day long, no matter how long you wear them. I own these boots and I love them, I wish I had a black pair. There is a store in Yorkdale already. It’s not surprising that I didn’t know this, I haven’t been up to Yorkdale since they renovated. Too far. Geox also makes dress, casual and sport shoes for men, women and kids. They even have outerwear. All products use their patented system.

Adicolor is coming

Wow, as an Adidas lover, I’m very excited about the adicolor Colour Series In Spring/Summer 2006 Adidas Originals brings back an iconic footwear concept that celebrates the touchpoints of self expression, customization and unlimited personal involvement: adicolor. In two main bursts the Sport Heritage division re-introduces a classic collection of customizable footwear and takes a step forward by adding apparel and accessories to the capsule collection. The original adicolor concept was launched onto the sportswear market at the Ispo Fair in Munich in 1983. At this time Adidas offered pure white footwear models with specially created quick drying and weatherproof pens. This innovative approach to training shoes allowed every consumer to interact and produce their very own pair of sneakers. For this reason the shoes from this collection have achieved cult status. To reflect the endless style possibilities of adicolor, the range of 2006 will be enhanced by a set of comprehensive, sophisticated customization tools ranging from felt-tip pens to spray paints and more. In addition, the adicolor collection will be divided in two major …

Boots by Chanel I noticed these boots browsing the Chanel Spring 06 couture show pictures . I have no idea why I am drawn to these. They are just so “smart” looking. Classic and clean. I like strange shoes. Thank god I’ll never be able to afford them, then I don’t have to worry about what I would wear with them. Take a look at the pictures from the Chanel couture show, there are some beautiful pieces.

Nike & Goodfoot presents Joga Bonito

Last night I attended a party at Goodfoot. A really cool Joga Bonito installation was done by Virus. There was also an advanced preview of Nike’s Motion Capture Court Force. Yes, it was a shoe opening, LOL. Free booze and nibbles though. I spent most of my time looking at people’s shoes. Let me tell you there was a lot nice sneakers in the place. Nike was the dominate shoe of choice. It was also funny to see grown men get upset when they noticed someone else wearing their shoes or choice accessory of the night. LOL, guys can be just as bad as chicks. Now on to the shoes. I’ve mentioned that I’m not much of a Nike fan. I like some of their shoes in theory, but would never purchase them. The new Motion Capture Court Force shoes are nice, my favourite being the black pair. I just love the details on the laces. You can view more about the shoes here and here. Edit: I found an article in Sneaker Freaker magazine …

Canadian supplier of Hunter Wellington Boots

EDIT: Oct 24, 2009 Wellingtons are easy to find in the city now. See the Hunter Wellingtons in Toronto post. I received a comment about the availability of Hunter Wellingtons in Toronto. I decided to email Hunter of Scotland Ltd to find out. I figured there would not be many Canadian distributors. I actually expected there to be none. I was wrong there is one. The London Trading Post is located in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. They do have an ecommerce website, so it’s possible to order some. So, while there are no local retailers there is somewhere where you can purchase authentic Hunter Wellingtons in Canada (it’s damn pricey otherwise). London Trading Post 189 County Road 49, R.R.#3 Bobcaygeon, ON K0M 1A0 phone: 705.738.1956 fax: 705.738.1956 Hunter Wellington History If you are interested here is a link to the size guide.

i want: Rainboots

Blue Tweed Wellington Boots The nasty weather in T.O has me thinking about Wellies again. I’ve talked about Wellies before on I want – I got. They were really cool, but unfortunately an art project. Toile Wellington Boots These printed ones by Tamara Henriques are very nice, but I love the classic black. For you girlie girls they have many kitten heel rain boots like this n Canada you can purchase them at Forty Mile Creek. They don’t have the complete collection, but more choice than other online retailers I checked. via Lifestyle Navigator

YSL Heels S/S 2006 I love these shoes even though I would never be able to afford them. Apparently chunky heels and platforms are back for S/S 2006. I’m not much of a trend shopper, I tend to buy things to last most than a season. Here’s the non-slingback version. Gorgeous. The model’s hairy legs gave me a chuckle 😀 via Style.com

i got: 1964 PAC Sorel boots

1964 PAC Sorel boots This was the most difficult of my boxing day finds. Aldo is selling Sorels, seems they had some partnership as the boots were branded with both logos. Anyways, I had no intention of getting white boots, but all other colours were sold out in my size. I found my size in white in 2 of the 5 Aldos I visited. They are damn popular this season. I was in a rush to find these things as they were on sale from $99.99 to $79.99 and there was an additional 25% off before 11a.m. That extra 25% worked out to $19.00 and the boots finally cost $59.99. Woot! I wasn’t crazy on the colour at first, but I was thinking function over fashion. I wasn’t stupid enough to feel the $40 extra was worth having brown Sorels. These boots are light, very, very warm and best of all WATERPROOF. I will no longer cringe at those nasty, salty and slushy puddles at intersections. I will walk through them proudly laughing at the …
