geekiviews: Second Clothing Yoga Jean

Yoga Jeans from Second Clothing. They came out last year amid the yoga buzz but somehow I missed hearing about them. It’s only after I received an email from Jennifer from Mudsharkstreetwear.com that I became intrigued. I was looking for another pair of dark skinny denim for the fall to wear with boots. This is what the website says: Jeans are not generally associated with perfect comfort. They tend to impede the large movements of the body and restrain and ususual stretching. But Second has changed all that! Combing fashion and comfort, Second Yoga Jeans are perfect for any lifestyle with an emphasis on well-being, flexibility and relaxation. Made of top-quality denim containing 97% brushed cotton and 3% elastane, Second Yoga Jeans hug the curves of the body in any position. They fit the ups and downs of a hectic day and metamorphose into laid-back fashion in the evening. Second uses denim with 92 percent shape memory, while the industry standard is only 64 percent. And thanks to their revolutionary treatment, the cuts and styles …

i want: Jonathan Saunders silk skirt and shirt

Jonathan Saunders silk skirt and shirt I love this skirt and shirt combination by Jonathan Saunders. The draping on the skirt is fantastic along with the colour combination. It’s looks a lot better on Net-a-Porter than did it on the runway in the spring. Jonathan Saunders is actually available in Toronto at Scarlet Boutique. More info on Scarlet Boutique here on Toronto Life. images: net-a-porter.com, style.com

i want: Members Only Nylon Jacket

Members Only Berry Nylon Jacket One of the few things to come back from the 80s that I approve. Get me some cardboard so I can do a headspin! Ha, ha. Comment if you saw this in the theater like I did! The arrows are pointing at Jean Claude Van Damme if you can believe it. image: membersonlystyle.com EDIT: God, I was sleeping and forgot the image of the jacket

i want: Knits by Sacai

Knits by Sacai. I’ve been turned onto Sacai recently. Abe Chitose worked at Comme des Garçons and Junya Watanabe for 10 years before starting Sacai in 1999. Her knitwear is amazing. Holt Renfrew carries the line and you should really go into the Bloor street store to and check the stuff out, especially if you haven’t had the pleasure of looking at Japanese design up close. I’m in love with the above cardigan, it’s all about the collar and shoulder. The one that Holt’s carries had burgundy in the ruffles. This season was all about the ruffle and it was incorporated throughout the collection. images: the Fashion Spot – sacai F/W 08.09

i got…

A vintage dress from Stella Luna I fell in love immediately when I saw this dress. It has a bit of a cocoon shape which you can’t see in the photos. The back detail is interesting too. Oh and it’s linen, perfect for summer. That’s my cat Sagan there. 🙂 Edit: For all of you wondering what the buttons look like.

i got: Earnest Sewn Harlan denim in Greaser Black wash.

Earnest Sewn Harlan denim in Greaser Black wash. I’ve been looking for another pair of skinny jeans. The pair I bought from Lucky Brand is starting to fall apart. I was in Winners and found these perfect fitting Earnest Sewns for $16.00. That’s right, SIXTEEN DOLLARS. This is almost a good as the deal I got on a Chloe dress. Sometimes Winners is amazing.

i want…

Tibi Printed mini dress I’m all about the mini this summer. It’s strange. As I got older the skirt lengths got longer, but this summer I’m just dying for more mini skirts, dresses, anything that shows a ton of leg. This dress has a lovable obnoxious print and it’s short as all hell.
