I received this in a Celine email blast a few weeks ago when the Fall Winter 2011 – 2012 treatments were being given to all the designer site. If I had to pick one designer to wear only, I think I could totally love the Celine uniform over and over again.  Celine is available at Holt Renfrew Bloor Street and Calgary.  I find it weird they aren’t listed on the website.
You can’t expect perfection every season from Celine. I liked about half of the Pre-Fall 2011 collection with most of the patchwork, denim and satin pieces getting the thumbs down. I enjoyed her more traditional Celine pieces.
The mod influence was fun. Pair a couple of these looks with creepers and I’m all over it. Hello early 90s and my patent leather creeper like Dr. Martens. The pointy heels almost looked like creepers in some photos.
Phoebe Philo can make me love animal print and not many can. I can’t wait to see the accessories report because these clutches with the fur tails can’t be it. I wonder if there will there be any leopard? images: style.com
Celine is another designer line that didn’t have my undying love right from the photos. Â I had to see some video evidence first. Â The videos brought me back to the Celine reality: beautiful clothing that I want to wear.
It’s a looser fitting collection that is missing some of the Celine sleekness from previous seasons. Â There are rich colours and vibrant prints to keep the collection from being completely white or ivory. Â This season I’m loving the tunics (even the japanese denim one) and white shirts.
I’m usually all over the shoes but the ones from the collection are pretty but boring. I’ll have to wait until the website is up to see what else is out there.
I love Vogue.it. It lists the fabrics used in the show: denim, canvas, cotton poplin, silk, silk cady, parachute silk, nappa and silk crêpe.
This is the Celine bag that I will be talking about till fall 2011. Love the shape and colour.
This video features Tim Blanks from style.com talking about the collection.
This is a video that contains all the looks but edited.
What is there to say about Celine accessories. They are totally covet worthy and getting better and better each season. Spring Summer 2010 is no exception. I love how Celine might have more muted and neutral colours but totally plays up the colour with accessories.
Perfect is a film by Ruth Hogben for Showstudio. It features clothing from the Celine Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 collection. It’s basically Celine porn, you need to watch it on the Showstudio website.
Reduce, refine, define. Phoebe Philo’s A/W 2010 Celine collection is a Minimalist mantra for modern dressing. Next season, perfect isn’t a noun, it’s a verb.(source)
There are very few designers that will get a bad review from me. Labels like Balenciaga, Givenchy and Lanvin will always be hits in my mind. Of course Celine with Phoebe Philo at the helm is among those select few. Phoebe played with print and colour this season in the ready to wear items. Usually she leaves colour to the accessories.
There was a bit of colour blocking which I would expect from Celine doing colour.
The prints threw me for a loop at first but I do like the pattern and colour combinations Phoebe has chosen.
The accessories are fabulous of course. I’m loving the neon yellow handbags big time.
I’m obsessed with two types of handbags now. They are both departures from my normally large standard. I love the small, slick and portfolio like handbags by Celine.
I’d have to learn to downsize quite a bit to pull these off.
The Gentlewoman is a new biannual style magazine for a new decade. Featuring inspirational, international women, it pairs ambitious journalism with a sartorial and intelligent perspective on fashion that is focused on personal style – the way women actually look, think and dress.
I really liked the photos taken of Phoebe, she’s just so damn cool.
I was doing my regular rounds of Holt Renfrew Bloor Street with The Oracle a few weekends ago. We ran into Tommy Ton of JakandJil. I hadn’t seen Tommy since he started on his adventures during Men’s and Women’s fashion weeks so it was really good to catch up for a bit. I say this to everyone but Tommy is such a sweetheart.
The highlight of our catching up was me playing model in Celine for Tommy. I know, it’s pretty lame but simple pleasure right. I’ve always looked, touched and drooled over the Celine pieces in Holts but never dared to try anything on.  With Tommy Ton present I had the perfect excuse. He had me try on two army jackets and I’m posting about the one I really, really love. The jacket is “the sex”. There is something about well made designer goods that just feel like a dream on. If I had to cash to drop on this jacket, I probably would do it in a heartbeat, look at the back of it!!!!
I was expecting more clean lines for Celine Pre-Fall 2010. However, Phoebe surprised me with hairiness and I don’t mind at all. I also loved the colour accents in the shoes.
The impeccable Celine Spring 2010 has hit the floor at Holt Renfrew, the exclusive retailer in Canada. I had to check it out myself. The clothing lives up to the pictures. Everything was just so beautiful, flawless and drool worthy. It’s expensive as all hell too. Phoebe, you know how to cut, it’s disgusting! I could wear it all.
Just to refresh your memory here is the Celine Spring 2010 video.
The Celine Spring 2010 collection is one of my favourites from the season. Everything was so clean and perfect. It looks even better in motion. I could wear it all.
Just like Resort, I loved the Celine Spring 2010. The clothing just looks so perfect. It’s got clean straight lines that just call to me. Phoebe, you know how to cut!
