i got: Final Fashion Dr Martens

Final Fashion Dr Martens are finally mine. I’ve been waiting for a year and it was totally worth it. As you might recall from this post Danielle Meder wins the Dr Martens Boot Design Contest. I was so excited that I made a little video for this i got. They are 14 holes. In all my years of owning Docs these were like the holy grail. I only did make it to 12 hole, but they had a buckle across the top of the boot that made them awesome. The leather on these are a little softer than your regular Dr Martens. I can’t express how much I love these boots. They remind me of my high school and university years. I’ve finally have a pair of Dr. Martens in my possession after years of being absent. You can grab the Final Fashion Dr. Martens at Neon Clothing. There’s one on Queen West.

Holt Renfrew Blogger Windows

Well, I hinted at the Holt Renfrew Blogger Windows on my 4 year anniversary post. Now the news has hit up the International fashion press and it’s spreading. Holt Renfrew is paying tribute to six of their favourite fashion bloggers. I want – I got happens to be on that list. 🙂 WWD was the first out the gate. The press release hasn’t been sent, but they were tipped off by someone. I’ve been yapping on twitter about it for a few weeks now. Racked LA, Mens.style.com, Modelinia, The Cut, Puretrend.com and Fashionista chipped in too. I’m not mentioned in the international press, I’m not fashion blog famous. I just have my little abode here in Toronto. On the Canadian media front, Danielle at Final Fashion was quick to post, as was fashionmagazine.com. They both mentioned me and I love them for it. So you are wondering who else is Holt’s favourites? They are Scott Schuman, Bryanboy, Tommy Ton, Jane Aldridge and Garance Doré. I knew my blog was read in Holt’s head office, but …

My Celebrate Courage necklace is on sale now.

A month ago I participated in Mimi + You Celebrate Courage Workshop. The necklace I made is now on sale at MiMi + You website. It looks a little different then what was in the last post. At that point it wasn’t completed as the there needed some a way to attach the chains part to the beaded part. Mitra took it away to do complete that. She managed to incorporate one of my original ideas that I dropped, ribbon. I’m very happy with the final product. If you would like to participate in a workshop there are a few scheduled during the next few months: June 24, 2009 – July 22, 2009 – August 19, 2009 – September 23, 2009 Workshops start at 6:30 p.m. sharp Participation fee is $20 per person The Spoke Club 600 King Street West 4th floor, Cellar Room Toronto, ON To RSVP please visit the Mimi + You Celebrate Courage website. Eleven Opening with Fashion Magazine

Eleven Boutique and Fashion Magazine teamed up to put on an official opening party for the newest women’s fashion shop in Yorkville. There was an official ribbon cutting ceremony a few weeks ago. I was invited but couldn’t attend. Eleven carries Lundström, Joeffer Caoc and Thien Le. The selection from the Lundström collection is massive, so this should be your first stop when looking for anything Lundström. I got to meet Linda Lundström for the first time, as well as Thien Le. At this point, I had not seen any Thien Le gowns in person. I saw his golf collection at SS08 fashion week. Upstairs there were a few women playing dress up in Thien Le and Lundström. After chatting with Thien Le he twisted my arm and I decided to play dress up in a few of his dresses. Eleven has a great selection of jewellery. I was very impressed with the offerings. Jimmy Choo x H&M

So the news broke last night, Jimmy Choo will be the next designer for H&M. This a big one for all the Sex in The City wannabes. This autumn, British accessory brand Jimmy Choo will bring its international glamour and covetable shoes and bags to selected H&M stores. The collection will be available from November 14 in around 200 stores across the world. It is the first time that H&M is collaborating with an accessories brand, and to celebrate Jimmy Choo will extend its design vision for this collection to women’s clothing to complement the accessories. Further exciting news is that this collaboration includes a men’s collection of shoes, bags and accessories. I’m not a fan of Jimmy Choo, his shoes do nothing for me in general. I’m hoping H&M does the right thing and make the shoes from leather and not plastic. If you have seen the shoes lying on the sale tables right now you can understand what I mean. A Jimmy Choo shoe out of plastic, it’s like blasphemy to me. I …

TÔ Long-Nam Fall 2009 – 2010 Lookbook

I received an email from designer, TÔ Long-Nam. Of all the information I’ve received from designers over the years here, this was the best crafted email I’ve read. I appreciated the attention the detail and biographical information immensely. He was born in Viêtnam, grew up in Munich and went to school at the Academy of Fine Arts Berlin-Weissensee in Fashion-Design. Long-Nam worked with famous stylists Victoria Bartett and Patti Wilson. His forey into fashion design started as a design assistant for Lanvin menswear. Positive encouragement after participating in the 21st International Fashion Competition prompted him to start his own line. He has also collaborated with designer Alessandra Facchinetti while she was at Valentino. While working on the Spring 2010 collection he is working for Superfine London, a denim company I’m very fond of. All this information was great, but I would have been sold at the photos. Long-Nam says this about his Fall 2009 – 2010 collection: Force has always been a keyword in the design principles of TÔ Long-Nam. For Fall/Winter 2009 the collection …
