Bamboo Closet

I want – I got reader Malou wrote to tell me about her online store Bamboo Closet. The store features handmade products by independent designers from the Philippines and the rest of Asia. Created in October 2006, Malou with her partners Isa and Joanna have created a company with a mission to “empower the artisans and their communities by developing a sustainable business capacity to compete in the global marketplace.” They also promote “social consumerism” by educating buyers to the origins of the items they purchase. I particularly liked the handbags the site has to offer. Bombshell Wristlet bag Katol Tote In addition to handbags, the store carries a variety of handmade items like jewelery, pet accessories, home decor, art and clothing. Bamboo Closet has graciously offered I want – I got readers a 10% discount on all items. Please use the discount code IWG202710 at checkout. The Essential Toolbag by S. Stein I fell in love with this bag which takes on the tool belt and makes it fabulous, such kitsch. I love all the pockets. They are always more of a pain in the ass than anything. I spend so much time looking for my keys or lip balm because of all the pockets. I still love them though, totally makes no sense. The bag is made of industrial strength canvas and has suede pockets. Inspired by the high functionality and natural materials of classic carpenter bags and toolbelts; reinterpreted for the modern industrious woman. Not sold in stores here but available online. via Popgadget: Personal Tech for Women images: ssteindesign.com

The Honeyroom

Andrea dropped me an email to let me know about her online store, The Honeyroom. She offers eclectic accessories and tshirts. I checked out her online boutique and she’s definitely hit on some trends with her offerings. 1. Strawberries – Andrea has this covered with red and black necklaces for sale. 2. Owls – She’s tapped into the Owl trend with necklaces in gold, brass and silver. I actually own an owl necklace very similar to the silver version Andrea sells. There are some Owl earrings too. The items I want are the wide yellow belt and this Burnt Orange shopper handbag. She is currently running a promotion. You get 15% off on orders of $40 more. Just enter the code honey1978 at checkout.

i got: Cat Butt Bag

I think I’m slowly becoming the crazy cat lady. You have seen the cutest cat bowl ever, come on you know, that image some like to hotlink. For Christmas I got the Cat Butt bag from a friend. The weird thing was is that I think it’s kinda cute. I’m not totally crazy, the cat butt gum, stickers and air fresheners are just too much for me. This post isn’t quite complete without photos of the little kitties.

I’m happy that I finally have my Stam inspired handbag now. Please note this is a real Stam bag. Town Shoes and Browns both had Marc Jacobs Stam inspired handbags this season. I spent many days wishfully looking at the bag and wondering if I should take the plunge. Well, Town Shoes made it irresistible, not only it was on sale, I got $25 dollars off. WOOT!. Dear Marc, If I could afford the real Stam, I would buy it, really I would πŸ˜€ image: www.frillr.com

something fun for spring

I laughed my ass off when I saw these handbags. That is very clever Mr. Marc Jacobs, I have to give you props for this handbag from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2007 collection. I can’t wait to see this hit the streets and the knockoffs to bound to follow. I wonder how many people will take their own chinese shopping bag and paint the LV logo on it. Check out the full Louis Vuitton Spring 2007 collection. I was suprised, I didn’t hate every piece in the collection. I actually liked some of it. It’s loooong though, freakin’ 55 pieces.

A bag by Renee Davide I love the shape and minimal nature of this tote. The colour is amazing and I love the white thread detail. A red bag is classic and paired with some red shoes, love that. I have a perfect pair of boots to go with this bag, sigh

Carnivale of Couture: Dream Bags by Pursed Lips

Pursed Lips’ Carnivale of Couture: Dream Bags This is a fun Carnivale of Couture about handbags. Designer Ella asks 2 questions. 1. If you were to only have the allowance for one Big Name designer IT Bag, what would it be? (This is a dream to many with the allowance for none!) Choosing one bag is so hard. I really love the Fendi Spy bag. ($2,100.00) But I really like the Chloe Paddington too. This one in lizard is very interesting. ($7,200.00)

Diesel Little Tulip Handbag I decided to reward myself with another handbag. On the weekend I visited Over the Rainbow and purchased this fun and colourful bag. It screams summertime fun and keeps me looking forward to warmer weather, sandals and summer dresses. Do not let the name fool you, this bag can hold a lot of stuff. It opens up to reveal a large zippered pocket in the middle.

Chemistry book bag by Rebound Designs I already have one book bag from Caitlin, The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. It was love at first sight, well almost. I really wanted The Odyssey or The Iliad, but alas they were not available. Old hardcover books are reworked into beautiful handbags. Caitlin has a good FAQ for those that are interested in her book bag making process. Items are always changing on her site, so keep checking. Chemistry is still available but gems like Great Expectations, Calculus and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy have been bought up. These one of a kind items are only available online.
